last night was the turning point for me. i’ve always been a kelly guy but didn’t think he was pivotal for this season. this dude NEEDS to be on this team. he brings so much energy in moments where we need it most. there were several possessions where he locked down kd last night. he was probably our best on-ball brunson defender when we played the knicks in 24. he’s shooting the lights out right now.

we riot at dawn if he is gone. trading him in an effort to duck the luxury tax is no longer an acceptable result.

daryl needs to throw his fucking balls on the table if josh harris tries to force a trade. also dom barlow needs to be converted to a standard contract asap but that’s for another post.

tldr: KEEP. KELLY.

  1. 100%. Love me some Oubae.

He has been a notoriously streaky player his whole career and it used be 50/50 on whether you would get a good Kelly game or a bad one. But for the past couple seasons it’s been more 70% good, 30% bad.

And the best part is it doesnt matter if it’s a tough playoff game or a meaningless end of season match up against the hornets, the guy will always play with the same intensity and never wavers.

Not to mention he has good size as a wing, is a decent scorer and shooter, can defend multiple positions, and helps a bit on the glass. Plus the vibes he brings and his dawg mentality.

Can never have too many of those players and we are lucky to have him for cheap.

  2. This is an unserious franchise if they trade KO. We are a long shot but Dr Glashow willing, they can put it together for a run through the east. Nobody in the east would want to see a mostly healthy and gelled sixers team in a seven game series

  3. I got his jersey two weeks into him playing with us. I want to use it for a few more years, keep this man!

  4. I’m just saying, he’s shot .310 and .295 from 3. He’s miles better this season, but how much will he regress to his mean.

Not to mention is dumb penalties at the end of tight games.

  5. Max/VJ/KO/PG/Jo with Barlow, Grimes, and Bona(?) should be our playoff rotation. If we could upgrade the backup center position, we’d really be cooking with gas.

  6. Any time we’ve been in a spot where we’re competing, they’ve gone into luxury tax if it made sense to. In fact, the only time they’ve made deadline moves to get out of luxury tax were in situations where we had somebody that wasn’t playing well (or playing at all) that was going to be gone after the season and there was a chance to bring in a cheaper player that was a better fit with the team.

Nobody should have an issue with them doing this. It makes no sense to pay luxury tax because we wanted to keep a shitty player around that’s riding the pine and neglect to not trade them for a player that we can actually use. Only a fucking idiot wouldn’t do this.

I have no idea why, but some people on here act as if we’re constantly trading away good players at the deadline or not making big trades/signings to avoid paying luxury tax. I’m not directing this at OP either. Just in general. People act as if we have the cheapest ownership in the league, which isn’t even remotely close to being true.

  7. My grandma is 99 years old. She turns 100 in August.

The only thing she asked for xmas was a throwback Kelly Oubre jersey. She has said on numerous occasions that tsunami on the Sixers is “the only thing holding me to this world.”

Please don’t kill my Nonna u/dmorey

  8. “You’re a bitch, you’re a bitch, you’re a botch, your gramma’s a bitch” Best reason for a fine ever. Classic.
