Anyone prioritizing their personal success over the team needs to be shipped out immediately. The fact that we reportedly aren’t looking to make big trades despite this news is worrying.

  3. Relax on making big trades. You don’t want to rush and do something dumb like KAT for Jrue & Grant.

  6. That’s a gross oversimplification. Many of our good players aren’t being maximized like they should be and those players should be upset about that and want to have the opportunity to contribute more. We give so much opportunity to the depth guys that we’re ignoring our core players that are the ones that will make the biggest difference. Mitch clearly plays better all around when he’s at least somewhat involved in the offense. Kat needs touches on the low block, not standing in the corner and reducing him to a catch and shoot guy and not on the wing where he can’t utilize his driving ability to get to the basket. OGs usage is inconsistent. Some games he’s up on the wing and handling the ball more, other games he’s slashing and in the corner (which is where he should be, imo).

    Wanting to have a bigger role doesn’t means you’re being “me over team” or that you couldn’t be a massively important piece on a championship team.

  10. Honestly when I watch the games it feels like KAT is being misused. Brunson doesn’t not get enough flack for how bad he is in the pick and roll at getting KAT the ball.

    Mikal honestly may be a better pair for KAT in the pick and roll than Brunson. He’s a good passer, tall with long arms can get more passes over the top.

  11. Everyone pointing to KAT because he’s playing bad, but do people not realize OG is one of the main culprits?

    There were leaks throughout his entire career that he wants to have the ball more, even before he came to NY. There were leaks that he was hesistant to re-sign here in 2024 because Brunson/Randle ball hogged. There were leaks from the FO last summer that they were concerned that OG’s defense suffered when he didn’t get the ball on offense. AND **You can visibly see him during games looking frustrated when people don’t pass the ball to him.** When was the last time you saw KAT looking frustated that people didn’t pass the ball to him? In fact most of the times we want KAT to be more aggressive in demanding the ball

    It’s not Brown’s fault.

    Have you not noticed that it looks like the team is taking turns?

    Brunson is a selfish player. I know he’s beloved, but truth is truth.

    He doesn’t go out of his way to get others involved.

    It’s not an indictment of him, he is amazing, but he is point hungry, and that’s not necessary on a team with as many offensive players as we have.

    OG is another…if he doesn’t get shots he sulks.

    Bridges values his streak over drawing contact and free throws.

    Kat is a whiner.

    There are a lot of personality defects that an aggressive voice in the locker room could fix.

  21. If I’m buying into this leak it has to be either Kat or Brunson because they’re both first option. But im leaning more into it’s about Kat because there was a leak that he felt he should get more shots.
    Brunson not so much.

  23. I don’t understand why the team abandoned the way they were playing earlier in the season. Ball movement. Shooting. Hustling for boards. Active hands. Now it feels like last season except worse defense.

  25. It’s embarrassing this team can’t realize they have the potential to win a championship if they just play together. If winning a championship for NYC and a franchise that’s frothing at the mouth for one doesn’t get you to buy in to that…that’s embarrassing.

  29. Not sure what to make of it, however, I think Mike Brown has to step up for his players. The lack of challenges is a symptom. Some calls are really bad and he doesn’t challenge, others don’t need to be obvious but you gotta be willing to lose the challenge to show your players you’re there for them. You gotta argue with refs to protect Kat and Brunson, make your displeasure known. Kat gets mauled, but often gets called for his response. I’m sorry but players know you got their back from actions not words. X and Os I think they’re fine.

  33. If this is true there are only 2 players that can buy or not buy in. Everyone else are established role players. That’s KAT and JB. And JB ain’t complaining.

  34. These kinds of locker room drama issues are usually reigned in by a Coach with a tougher edge. I would’ve preferred Malone over everyone else, and people were afraid that there would just be re-runs of Thib’s but Mike Brown ended up on the Thibs starting rotation anyway
