From colleague Patrick Present:

Digging into Olen Zellweger's shift from offensive dynamo to important defensive piece with the Ducks.

  1. I would make him the forward on the 3:5 PK. He is super alert and crafty. He blocks shots and the big thing is when the defensive triangle rotates he is 100x better at guarding the slot than a forward would be in tangling with a gorilla without getting a penalty.

Look before you dismiss it, remember it was odd to use 4 forwards on the PP, and now some use 5 forwards. Why not a superior skating defenseman to PK as a forward? Block shots, get sticks to deflect shots, poke check, pressure the puck are his skills and the PK players skills.

  2. WTF is this. This is a headline and sub headline with no comments from the player and just a generic copy and paste of Olen’s playing history

  3. Zelly and MTL’s Lane Hutson is usually listed at the same height and sometimes similar weight. We know Zelly is built like a bulldog.

If Zelly and Hutson fought… (you guys can finish the statement 😎)
