I think people need to logically think about the context surrounding McDaniel. The man just got fired from his HC job. There has been a lot of noise based on his ability to lead a team and hold people accountable. That’s a big red flag. That’s the number one thing organizations are looking for in the HC not just how good of a play caller they are. The reason he is likely so interested in the OC job for the chargers is he gets an amazing situation to boost his stock for the next cycles. He also gets to learn from one of the greatest leader style head coaches around in Jim Harbaugh. The reason to take all the head coaching interviews he can get is to position himself favourably for future jobs. Obviously if the right situation comes up and he’s offered he would take it. But the league is telling him the areas he needs to grow in to take that next step whenever he becomes a HC again.
I think it’s possible reporters found out McDaniel agreed to be the OC pending HC but knew that he will turn down the Raiders/Browns
And they probably have a good idea of who the Bills will hire which is why someone like Schefter is still tweeting confidently McDaniel is the OC

I see nothing wrong with what Bolted said. First of all, Albright gases himself and his reporting up WAY too hard – if he ends up being right on this one, it will be the first time in a while that I’ve seen him be right. Second of all, do you think Allbright willingly gives up his thought process and information re: the Raiders and Bills if he isn’t trolled super hard by this guy? Like look at what he said before compared to that bit of info – now if McDaniel leaves, we know for a fact he is BS-ing (funnily enough if he joins us, we still don’t know if Allbright’s information is right 😂).
