Personally I 100% agree, but my favorite athletes are always the guys who succeed by virtue of being extremely technical and having high IQ in their respective sports as opposed to the guys who are pure freaks of athleticism, so I might be biased. I know some people still want him traded, not as a knock against him but because his contract's almost up and he's good enough to actually have teams interested, but is that where most people in this sub are?

I personally dont see us trading away a 40 point player unless he just really doesnt wanna sign again
if my keller schmaltz duo get split up i may explode who knows
I think end of day, it’s really just dependant on how much Schmaltz and his camp want, like we love him and he’s a great player but if he’s asking for a big paycheck we probably can’t afford it and we have great young talent coming up the pipeline that we could look at over him.
I’m a yes for the right price. I disagree with Jordan Shmaltz that he deserves 10 mill/yr contract. 6×4 lets talk, but the term matters
We have Iginla, Desnoyers, Beaudoin, etc in the system. At some point veterans will need to be moved or let go to make room for them so the team can become a cup contender. Schmaltz isn’t going to extend for 1 or 2 years. Therefore a trade is the best solution for everyone involved.
The Avs traded Rantanen and now they’re the top team in the league.
Projecting 79 points, he may command more than we want to pay out. If that’s the case we need to find out & deal him before the deadline for some assets. Prefer to keep him he’s really been good this year. He has a no trade clause.
Personally I hope he re-signs, and doesn’t resign.
