Not a good fit. We don’t need more streaky scoring, low basketball IQ, questionable motor guys. We neee someone who’s not 40 year old Mike Conley that has a greater than room temp basketball IQ
He fits the mold of the type of player that we need. Guard/wing scorer off the bench. His salary also works in different trade scenarios

They want a center of the future. We aren’t trading them Joan, so unless they have interest in us giving Rocco a regular contract and trading him it’s probably not happening.

I mean I loved him doing the Pacers series he help out when they needed points. Maybe that’s the person we need who actually makes his shots.

Connelly and Finch have managed to create a scenario where the Wolves will take just about any guard in the league to avoid playing the drafted players they busted . Lore and Arod must be thrilled .
As a pacers fan just letting you guys know he’s a poor man’s Anthony Edwards. He’s super mentally tough in big games but he’s a bit of a space cadet on D and can be maddening on offense when he’s disengaged. His touch at the basket is S tier. For how confident he is I’m surprised he doesn’t take defensive assignments more seriously.
I’d much rather trade for a bigger scoring guard/wing like this than a backup PG. Ant is the crunch time PG and he needs the experience closing games right now, even if there are rough stretches like last game.
Only problem with Mathurin is he’s a pending FA, and who knows how much he’s going to want on his next contract. There are a lot of teams projected to have cap space this summer too. I know teams have been smarter with their contracts, but this upcoming off-season will the first one under the new CBA with more than like only 4 teams with real cap space.

I have barely watched him play this year, but I wouldn’t dislike it at all (unless it’s an obvious overpay).
He’s a talented player who can create his own bucket and defend adequately. A bit of a chucker, but I love his drive game and fearlessness. Plus he’s a young guy with a ton of upside and you’d have his restricted rights.
I hate to break it to yas but dilly tsj Conley and 2nds is a horrible outing package, teams don’t want that
