I think the problem is the org wants to forget the Bobcats era. Either way, Kemba should be next.
I’m pretty sure I was there when they honored him at half time and gave a corridor or something after him.
I mean the only player that currently has their jersey hung in the rafters was a man who tragically died while playing here.
Dell Curry is finally getting his hung after playing for us for the last time 28 years ago. This is alongside being a color commentator for like a decade and having a basketball arena on the campus of Queens named for him.
Sure, hang up Wallace and Walker’s jerseys or whatever. But no matter how good they were as players, the precedent to get into the Hornet’s rafters is fucking hard.
He deserves it. Dont want to go too crazy with retiring jerseys without winning anything, but I think we should see Dell, Crash, and Kemba. Played with utmost pride for this franchise when they didnt get much back from the organization.
Then you have representations of the 3 eras before the one we are in now with new ownership.
Dell from before the move
Crash from the Bobcats days
Kemba from the return of the Hornets.
Then we dont need to retire any more until Lamelo, Kon, and Brandon win a humble 12 consecutive rings.
Byron Mullens Luxury Box
Walter Herrmann Concession Stand
Im gonna argue he didnt do enough to deserve his jersey retired and the only other people who fo would be Muggsy and Kemba.
Dell got his retired for on court AND off court contributions, Wallace hasn’t been involved with the organization in close to 20 years now.
Muggsy still does ALOT of stuff for/with the team and Kemba is Kemba so he makes more sense.
the first favorite player i ever had in the nba
always a special place in the basketball section of my heart for that dude🔥
We should never forgot about Crash, he was probably second best player ever played for the bobcats
I love Crash but we do not need to retire his number.
Retire ALL of the Bobcats jerseys. Those players endured a lot and did their job as professionals despite the reception or results.
Bonus: a retired Bobcats jersey means no throwback nights necessary
Idk about that, it’s hard to retire a number and we have several you might consider
Crash was the player that made me root for the Bobcats. I remember one game he fell, fractured a rib and had a partially collapsed lung and only missed like three games.
He’s among the honored players. Had a ceremony and everything.
