It was a rough time, but that trade did bring my joy back to watching Lakers basketball 🤧
It’s why, even for all his faults, I didn’t want to completely harp on Dlo..….because we just recently saw something a hell of a lot worse
My favorite Laker non championship season. It felt like we were on this impossible run. All my current favorites in the NBA were on that team

It’s a view purely from hindsight as NAW was seen as a bench warmer at this time, but it would have been incredible for us.
I really thought that team was going to win it all. Defeated the 2nd seed Grizzlies, and also beat the defending champs GSW. We were red hot after that trade. All the games against the Nuggets were super close. If DLo just played average, or even slightly below average, not saying we would’ve won but probably extended the series or won it all.

Made lemonade yet folks still perpetually drag Hamm
Compete laughing stock that season then we turned it around and made a WCF finals run. That season was so damn fun
Man, I’ll stand by the Lakers were a getting a championship if Jokic, Murray, and MPJ didn’t go crazy. It was worth it to me even though they fell short
This shows that a team with bad chemistry can feel refreshed with a trade. Lakers however did not capitalize the following summer.

We would’ve won if we ran into any other team besides Denver that year. Would’ve been absolutely insane to win the championship as a 7th seed.

Dlo was cool for a minute during that trade deadline, I believe that if he could have maintained that product we could have won in 23
