2009 Schaub was the best QB season in Texans franchise history. Those first two Schaub seasons when the Texans sucked make it appear as a closer comparison between the three of them.
The argument to made against Schaub is that it was his sixth season in the league, third as a starter.
Schaub was great till he got his foot broke.
Watson had easier schedule and relied a lot on ‘fuck it, Hopkins down there somewhere’.
Stroud has had the best tight window throws and other fundamentals that make me think he can eventually be a champion. Last season getting smoked up the middle on 3 step drops made him jittery. Honestly with the right sports psychologist and off-season coaches I think he can cement himself as the guy we love.
I would have thought Deshaun had thrown a lot more TDs than that first 3 years but I guess part of that is due to the ACL injury.
remember there was a lot of fan controversy over whether Rosenfels should be starting because Schaub was inconsistent first couple years. Rosenfels even had a crazy 4th qtr comeback (but lost) the year before the Rosencopter.

I loved Shaub before he lost it. At his peak, he was amazing and fun to watch. I kind of miss that team. If we had some of the pieces from that team to the current one, we’d be in the Super Bowl. Like some of 2008-2010 players. Gimme Arian Foster, Andre Johnson, Owen Daniels, etc. we still didn’t get far back then but it was really fun to watch.

I’m taking CJ over all 3. I hated the way Watson played but I knew he had talent and I thought he’d just keep growing until it all came together. And then it didn’t. CJ still has that opportunity. Go back and look at the stats from Brady, Brees and Manning first 3 seasons compared to their next few. It takes these guys some time. CJ has a pretty solid body of work to demonstrate he’s worth giving patience to.

Man, Schaub played in the AFC with Brady, Manning, Big Ben, Rivers, and championship Flacco. Then every week you look across the other conference and Brees, Rodgers, and healthy Romo putting up crazy numbers. He’ll never get the credit he truly deserves.
