The Guardians and J-Ram agree to a 7 year extension worth $175 Million, practically making him a Guardian for his entire career.

  1. Dude is an absolute hero to the city of Cleveland. Has given them such a discount and produced every year. And of course for the entire fanbase he gave us all “down goes Anderson”. How loved can one man be?

  2. If Cleveland doesn’t build a statue of this man so help me god. Fuck it name the team after him, the city even.

  3. It’s hard for a Tigers fan like me to feel any kind of happiness for the Guardians, but… that is awesome.

  4. Easy Hall of Famer if he keeps up anything approaching his current level of production.

  5. I’m just glad he’s staying put. Nothing as frustrating as seeing a homegrown guy go to a super team for a huge contract.

  6. That seems low .. Jose Ramirez – $25 average annual value of his extension

Kyle Tucker – $60 million average annual value of his new Dodger contract.

Sure, Ramirez is 4 years older, but he is one of the most consistently productive players in MLB. He’s a consistent pain in the ass for my Tigers. Thanks a lot Guardians!

  7. This guy has done more than Kyle Tucker and he is getting way less than half of what Kyle is getting. What a discount!

  8. How a guy with a face that chubby steal 44 bases? Who does he think he is Bobby Abreu!?

All jokes aside JRam is a class act and one of the most underrated players in the game. I have the utmost respect for someone that puts value on more than just the money.

  9. Probably one of the most underrated players in any sport at this point. That stat line is insane and it wasn’t his best year.

  10. Amazing AAV now, it is until he’s 40 tho, which is a little crazy, but baseball contracts be like that for 30+ year old MVP candidates

  11. If you’re giving the team a home town discount you better have player opt outs every year in case things don’t go as planned.

  12. They better put up banners, name a highway, and build a statue and a plaque of this man and his name

  13. This headline is funny. Hasn’t he made it clear in the past he is not going anywhere? Cleveland gets their version of Gwynn, Ripken, or Pucket. HOF argument is silly. Barring the biggest decline of the century, easy first ballot.

  14. Dude might go down as the lowest paid superstar of the modern area (comparably). $25 a year is absurdly low when there are guys like Nick Castallanos and Joc pederson making $20 million this year

  15. The Guardians have been blessed to have this guy on their team. I’m a Sox fan and his whole demeanor and aura have me as a huge fan of his, so I can only imagine how Guardians fans feel. Great for you all, you need a hometown guy after LeBron left you at the alter twice.

  16. Professional sports are businesses and players employees however, this man is a showing some top level class with choosing loyalty to the fans of the Guardians and the city of Cleveland. Thanks Joes for showing us how it’s done. You won’t have to make the difficult choice of caps for your plaque at Cooperstown.
