  5. Im actually fine with them losing. Increases chances at a higher pick. What id really be happy about though is letting the kids play, esp PP time. Why are we putting players out there that arent part of future plans? Makes no sense at all.

  16. JT Miller’s locker room rift sent the Canucks into a free fall last season that they have yet to recover from. The Rangers choosing him as Captain was bold……is bold the right word?.

  17. JT has been whatever, but on what planet is he responsible for covering Celbrini or the rangers getting scored on, on this play? First he tried to defend the pass from going into the slot after Soucy turned it over and then he stayed high to cover the defenseman entering the zone. The reason that goal was scored is because Soucy Turned the puck over while Gabe went for a change and Panarin was late getting back into the play. If you’re gonna pin this goal on anyone it’s like 98% Soucy.

  18. To be fair Borgen and Soucy were both completely useless to the point of embarrassment on that goal. Mika was at least tracking but just skated over to the man but didn’t make any effort to block the pass. Just a total failure at anything even resembling defense.

  22. Miller yes, but I’m so sick of Panarin and his lazy back check. Just off a change and zero hustle. He is incredibly gifted and last night made some of the most impressive moves in the O zone that I’ve **ever** seen from him. However MMW: this lack of defensive urgency is why Artemi Panarin will **never** win a Stanley Cup.

    On teams that give a shit; Tampa, Carolina or Colorado, imagine the response from players on the bench? Better yet, imagine the response from those coaches. This is the first period, Bread and Miller (combined -2) end the game with 21+ minutes while Carrick, Otter, Raddysh and Blidh (+3) were < 10 mins.

  25. Rangers pro scouting is somehow worse than they’re amateur scouting. Amazing how many bad players drury has acquired. Be ready for a long rebuild people lol this is gonna suuuuuck

  26. Had such high hopes for him after the end of last season, looked like just the kind of player we needed.

    I don’t know what happened this year, maybe the injuries, but he is NOT the same player we got after the trade deadline.

  30. Miller finally doesn’t put up a point for the first time in 4 games (and 8 of the last 10) and this sub predictably starts crying about him immediately 😂

  34. It’s ironic. We traded for Miller because he was this Alpha dog that would “drag guys into the fight” and instead he became mopey like the rest of this team when things started going south. 

    This is what defines this core. Whether it was last year or thr playoff series where the tide turned against them. The only time this team showed no quit was when Mika carried them on their back against Pitt in round 1 and they came back against a cocky pens team.

    Drury keeps addressing the symptoms but overall the mental cancer that corrupts this team and makes them beta losers still exists. It could be the players it could be the organizational staff, probably both.

    Given his career and what miller had done during it, this is who he is

    So I’m assuming Drury traded him knowing this would be effort. He’s cha gong the culture!

    No one said, including Drury though that it’d help the culture. Drury is merely just continuing is revenge tour for how his playing career went in New York

    One guy can’t change that unless he’s Jesus christ.

  41. This play is less “lack of effort” and more so just the team being slow. The Sharks are younger and way faster, look at their puck movement. The Rangers are too slow to react and the sharks quick foot speed and puck movement just led to the whole team looking confused asf.

    This is what happens when the whole league is moving in the direction of skill and speed and our genius GM goes “more grit, tough American boys.”

    Like yes Florida won because of their toughness but that toughness they have is second them being fast deep and skilled.

  42. Everyone who wanted a tank job…. Stop bitching about this. This is what a tank job is. Everyone every time we suck is all “let’s pull a buffalo and then we’ll be good”… First off, NO, becoming good is not guaranteed, and secondly THIS is what “pulling a buffalo” looks like.

    There is no world in pro sports where you lose games in this fashion for “tanking purposes” while putting up a happy go lucky attitude. In fact, MOST games are going to look like this — low effort, miscommunication, frustration, aggravation..

    Stop bitching and accept the reality of what tanking looks like
