John Harbaugh’s fingerprints are already all over the Giants

John Harbaugh has already started putting his fingerprints on the Giants organization. First, relieving Kevin Abrams who has been with Big Blue for 25+ years and shifting legendary Head Athletic Trainer, Ronnie Barnes, into a new role. More recently he has started shaping the coaching staff, only retaining two.

NY Post’s Paul Schwartz breaks down the moves and just how much of an impact they will make. Plus, he gets into candidates for the open offensive and coordinator jobs.

  1. Change hurts, but if it is between nostalgia or winning, I'll take winning.
Total respect to Barnes, but the NFL is constantly evolving. Can you tell me that Barnes is on the cutting edge of athletic training after 50 years?
The Giants need to get "Modern". And QUICK.

  2. So Kevin Is The Contract & Cap Guy ? & We’ve Been In Salary Cap Hell For At Least The Past 7-8yrs .. Joe Scheone Got Hired To Negative 40mil In Cap .. Yeahhh Kevin Can Go .. John Prolly Asked Who’s Been In Charge Of The Contracts & Cap ? They Prolly Said Joe But Also Kevin Abram’s Been Handling That For The Past 20yrs .. Instantly If I Was John I Would’ve Thought Well Y’all’s Cap Space Been Bad For The Past 10 Hes Gone I’m Bringing In My Guy

  3. About time they changed the trainer honestly. He’s a great guy and did a lot for us ,and I’m glad he’s still on board, but injuries have been an issue.

  4. What? Ronnie Barnes at 73 still have a job? A senior one also. What a joke. And for him to stay bcos he's a minority is also an insult. No wonder this team sucks. A lot of underperform staffs. Mara shud just run a charity not a football team

  5. While I'm surprised and a little disappointed Carnen Bracillo will not be kept as the OL coach that staff needed to go because they were awful and the poster child was Shane Bowen. Bullen was a better DC than Bowen but I'm glad Harbaugh is going to pick someone to be the DC. If Monken is going to be the OC as everyone seems to think then that's a big boost for Jaxson and the offense.

  6. If Giants fans wanted the OL coach to keep his job they should not have given him such high praise. Someone like Harbaugh doesn't want any competition for popularity. I was saying this would happen since I saw his response to Tiki and the boys praise of him. Guys with egos like Harbaugh don't take any chances with these things.

  7. This isn't any different than any organization making changes. It's way overdue and it doesn't make any difference whether a fan likes the changes or not. I've been a giants fan for over 60 years. These last two head coaches were pathetic. I thought Dabol was the answer after his first season. He should have been fired last season. This year I watched games until I couldn't stand it anymore. It seemed like each week they found a new way to lose. Dabol didn't seem to understand it's all about winning.

  8. It’s so fascinating to me as a Ravens fan (since before Harbs) seeing all the new Giants content about him. I wish him the best but more than anything I’m curious to see how this plays out

  9. Overwhelming support for John when he became head coach for the new york football giants!that being said.step back let him do his thing you didn't think he would keep everyone from a completely failed tea!get a grip!go coach Harbaugh…

  10. Would be funny if he fired Sr VP of player personnel, Chris Mara. Even though family ties are common there is too much nepotism in the New York football Giants because the front office trio takes themselves too seriously.

  11. Giants also led the league in injuries all the time. Just because the carpet has been around since the house was built doesn't mean it never gets replaced. 73 is a good run. Ronnie should retire

  12. Can we stop with all the hand-wringing over Ronnie Barnes? 50 GD years in the organization and Head of Medical Services? Untouchable? He has a say in the Orthopedic, the Team Doctor, the shoes, the turf, the rehab, the strength and conditioning, etc! One-eyed Cedrick Jones, Stenosis David Wilson, Next Turf, Trays, Daniel Jones, a strained ACL to a blown ACL in one game, all on his watch! Those are the ones top of mind; there are more! Giants have been leading the league in IR players per year for years. Enough of this, take the retirement package and live a good life. Cheeses!

  13. Good! It’s about time! Enough was enough! As a die hard Giants fan, the BS festered long enough! Thank God John Harbaugh has been hired and is cleaning house! 🏠 Let’s Go Giants! Change has finally happened! 🙏🏻👍🏻👏🏻💙 Let’s Go Giants! Winning culture is hopefully back. 🏆🏈 Welcome to New York Coach Harbaugh. Thank You Giants for making this happen! Happy for the fans and the entire organization! 🙏🏻❤️🤍💙
