  1. There is one huge difference between Montebault and Dobes. The quality of play in the last period when the score is tied. That's why the team with Dobes has so many wins and that's why they lose to him.

  2. Discipline killed us tonight !
Matheson can be very erratic at times especially on the penalty kill like tonight ! The call on Carrier was very low. Cole gets cross checked by McAvoy and no call at the last minute! We are getting burned by these bad calls and decisions we make defensively at times. Too bad we don’t have Price now because he would make this team so hard to beat ! Love the kids doing their jobs! Boston got the bounces tonight ! Season is still going on and we will have to battle it till the end ! Love the compete level ! We will bounce back!

  3. it isa not sammy or carrier it is the ref theu didnt call the cross check on caufield in front of the net in the dying minutes and that none call on the icing they dont want the habs ever win another lord stanley cup it is evident we must kick out garry the buttmen of the other gms in the league

  4. Five 4-point divisional games since Saturday, January 10th: 1 game vs Detroit, 2 games vs Buffalo, 1 game vs Ottawa, and 1 game vs Boston. Out of 10 potential points, the Habs got only 2. If the Habs do not make the playoffs, look no further than here. Just playing .500 in these five games would have made a difference.

  5. Boston goal (PP) #1: Danault play-watching left Arvidsson alone at the back door. Not Monty's fault. Boston goal (PP) #2: Evans failed to pick up Geekie right behind him. Not Monty's fault. Boston goal #3: Carrier fail to check Minten twice, screened backhand beat Monty. Monty 50% at fault. Boston Goal (PP) #4 Geekie beats Monty from way out for a soft one. Monty 100% at fault. From what I saw, penalties killed the Habs and the PK was non-existent. Monty made some good saves but the team let themselves down in an important game. What a waste of an outstanding performance by Caulfield. Thanks guys.

  6. Guys The whole team looked extremely overwhelmed in the 3rd period. You could feel the crushing pressure the Bruins were putting on the Habs, dominating puck possession and winning every battle. They had this loss coming, and this isn't just about goaltenders. They only turned on the real grind in the final minutes of the game, which is what they do every time they're trailing. A championship level team would have started doing so at the very start of the 3rd to bury that one and fly home with the win. But we'll get there.

The Habs aren't in their Stanley Cup contention years yet, so the focus needs not be on Monty's bad season. Every player hit rough spots sometimes. Both management and the coaching staff need him to stay in net long enough to get his mojo back so he can then help the team win or get traded away, this is a necessary evil.

The goalie situation will sort itself out by the time the team hits its prime time and we will see a cup back in Montreal soon enough.
The boys are doing good overall and are going in the right direction.

  7. If the Habs don’t figure out the goalie situation the Habs will not make the playoffs we lost a lot of games because of bad goaltending and I hate that they might have to bring up Fowler again,I would prefer him staying with Laval until this year but they might not have a choice

  8. We completely outplayed and outshot Buffalo, and with Cole getting 3 goals himself we should have won this one as well. That's 4 blown points…8 if you consider they were both '4-point intra-division games'. And why? We have the worst goaltending in the league. By FAR.

  9. It looks like Montembeault is part of the rebuild process. With him, you know that every mistake you make results in a goal. On offense, you know that there is no such thing as taking too many shots on goal. Playing with a good goalie, the whole team might lose drive and possibly get too comfortable. So let's give Montembeault credit for his contribution. 😊

  10. I know Carrier is well-liked in the locker room and all that, but on any contender,,,heck, probably on any legit PLAYOFF team…he's a 7th defenseman at best.

  11. The team defence was terrible
    Often out of position.

I don’t understand why Dach decided to fight. From the inside videos, seems like a great guy but doesn’t fit the lineup , needed th Blais and Veleno types as crazy as it sounds but need sandpaper against Bruins

  12. Montembeault is good but not great. He has his moments. Nevertheless, it was a solid game, good match.

Let’s face it, Boston got a bit lucky against Montreal, just like they did against Las Vegas, so I guarantee you that the Habs will win against the Bruins in March.

  13. The second line has been quiet the last two games. The 3rd and 4th line need to be overhauled as well, they can't score. Evans and Dach need to go as well. Montreal needs to continue to build more depth. Monty isnt the problem. He is a decent goalie. Sure he'll let it in odd goals but he also makes hard saves. He is good enough at the very least to build a contender and thats all you need. However the team defensive play in front of him is brutal, improving but still needs work.

  14. When one player returns after a long break it often works as a boost for the team. When three players return it means change in chemistry and expectations. Especially Dach and Ghule who were out for quite some time. Don't worry, the team will get back on track soon.

  15. As much as Monty helped us last year and as much as i love him, he has not been good at all this year aside from two games. Two good games is no where near enough and because of that Dobes has been pushed aside and is STILL THE TEAM LEADER IN WINS THIS SEASON. Its time for Dobes to get more games consistently and see where he can take us. they've been doing him dirty this entire season and if it weren't for his performances last year we also would not have made the playoffs, he deserves a more solid chance and if he doesn't get it i would petition for him to be traded for a better chance than what they can give him here in Montréal. he deserves better than what hes been given and he definitely deserves more credit than hes been given.

  16. We need another defensive minded defenceman. Bring up Reinbacher and see if he is part of the solution. MSL is only playing Xhekaj 9 mins a game so it is hard to see how Reinbacher couldn't fill those minutes easing him into the NHL.

  17. Monty actually made a lot of quality high percentage saves. Stop freaking out. Poor puck management and the poor team defence plagues this team. We are not ready for prime time yet. We are better than last year and have a good core. We have smart management that know what they need to do. If it was so easy building a Cup winning team everyone would do it . Stop blaming the goalie for everything

  18. The D and PK were trash tonight. Monty is a league average goalie everyone is expecting to be elite so we can accept constant defensive breakdowns. Is everyone forgetting Fowler was losing us games to?

  19. If we want a good show, we already have one. Three goals by Caufield: wow! If we want victories, I'm a afraid we'll have to wait for Fowler, because we can't count on the present tandem to make the big saves that make a difference on a regular basis. Monty has been excellent most of the game, until the Bruins' last two goals. We need a goaltender who can be excellent for 60 minutes, not just for two periods!

  20. Will everyone start waking up and realize that montebeault is the problem. Time for him to go he never was a good goalie that's why he was on waivers in Florida and not a trade. The Habs have better goalies than montebeault. I been saying this for 4 years that montebeault should be gone he has a losing record and they still say he a starter. Either montebeault has to go or whoever is protecting him from being gone in Montreal. MONTEBEAULT SUCKS

  21. If you guys praise montebeault one more time then you really need to stop your podcast. 2 games under 20 shots for opposing team and lose the game when winning the game

  22. Most of the big guys on the team play small (Slav, Dobson, Dach, Texier, Matheson) … Place Arbor on the 4th line as a right winger. Replace him on defence with Parayko (st Louis) … Get rid of softie Reinbacher and trade for a large heavy, gritty, top six forward. Jenner? … Crouse? … Forsberg ? … Cuyllie ?… We need guys that can skate fast are over 210 pounds that enjoy the rough stuff, that enjoy crashing the net… Add more bull dogs in the line up and the other soft puppies will become more courageous …… Fear works… size intimidates …..
