  3. Sam has outperformed his contract and is a victim of his own success when it comes to the critics. His annual salary is between Justin Fields and Geno Smith. Sam is an example of perseverance and I’m proud to have him as my qb.

    Side note: Advanced analytics suggest the difference between a top 5 and top 15 quarterback is smaller than ever. Building a team like the Seahawks have could become the norm…

  10. As a Viking fan, I hope Darnold wins it all. Last year I about vomited each time I read nasty comments from Viking fans about Sam. All Darnold did was win 14 games. I have read here a lot of Seattle fan comments, and they appreciate Darnold big-time. They have my respect.

I genuinely believe, regardless of the outcome of the NFC championship game Sam Darnold has gained his respect from not just his teammates, but from the rest of the end of the league That man has been battle tested throughout his entire career I believe traded twice nothing phases him And look at what that’s done for him. He’s turned it into $100 million contract and a trip to the NFC championship with a potential trip to the Super Bowl on the line. He’s always been Him He just needed the right situation and the right people to believe in him.

  16. BOOMER, Am I looking at the SB 60 MVP?? This mistrust in a guy who wins 29 games in 2 seasons, is NYJ and Vikings hate. It only motivates him and the offense as a whole is getting much better.

  22. As a Seahawks fan, this is my Super Bowl tonight! I’m so proud of this team I thought it’d be another 10 win season with missing the playoffs but they really turned up and they are like that! But either way tonight I’m excited for the future!

  27. I’ve noticed something watching NFL football for so long. It almost always holds that if a player — a quarterback especially — gives a long sit-down interview just before a big game not only does he usually play poorly, but he often loses too. It’s uncanny. Trevor Lawrence did an interview with Chris Simms two or three years ago — good interview — when the Jags were on a roll and then the Jags fell flat. I’ve seen many others. But if I were an NFL player I think I’d reject any lengthy interviews before an important game. The Seahawks play the Rams today in the NFC Championship Game and let’s see if my theory gains more weight. (If I’m right it could be coincidence. Or it could be a player either then puts too much pressure on himself or starts thinking he’s great, and either is bad. At any rate I think that Sam Darnold should strictly be concentrating on this upcoming game and avoid these types of distractions.)

  29. Today I think is a huge day for Sam Darnold. I think the outcome of the game isn’t as important as, “Does he have a good game?” If Darnold minimizes mistakes and maybe throws 1+ touchdowns it’ll be a success, either way. But to me this game is close. If Matt Stafford plays great the Rams probably win in a squeaker. It’s just that for a variety of reasons the Rams match up well against the Seahawks. (I think it’s a combination of good rush pressure by the D-line and good complementary cornerback play, along with Matt Stafford being one of the best passers in the NFL and some receivers who are better than they should be. So the Rams give Darnold headaches but the Rams offense can score points too.)
