Chris Finch speaks on yesterday’s tragedy: “For the 2nd time in less than 3 weeks, we’ve lost another beloved member of our community in the most unimaginable way, as an organization, we’re heartbroken for what we’re having to witness and endure and watch, we just want to extend our prayers…”

  1. I’m just trying to figure out what the 2nd amendment is about now. I thought it was about being allowed to arm yourself against the government. I guess a certain political faction was never really about it.

  2. This is absolutely not a good enough response if we’re honest. He nearly did a thoughts and prayers here and the Republican money is shining everywhere in these corporate environments.
Everyone needs to get a grip. We make anti-nazi movies and shows and yet we seem to accept it?
What is wrong with these diplomats?

  3. If the Dems don’t prosecute every single one of these people including Trump, Miller, ICE etc etc they are so fucking stupid. And I’m sure they won’t because well they are so fucking stupid.

  4. Thoughts and Prayers, as is American tradition. More public figures need to grow a back-bone like Tyrese Haliburton and speak some truth instead of being afraid of their corporate masters and kowtowing to the approved lines. It’s disgusting.

  5. None of these people reacted to US-funded Palestine genocide, and this feels like an inevitable result

  6. We got in this mess because people think prayers are real.

We need people to be fucking grounded in reality, or this will keep happening.

  7. I understand that CF is a basketball coach and not a politician. And that it would be incredibly stressful to be a figurehead of any kind in this situation. I’d even understand if he just said “no, I cannot speak on this topic.” But to hold a press conference and say anything less than “this was murder” feels like complicity. It wasn’t an “unconscionable situation” it was state-sanctioned murder.

  8. Im not about to speak for anyone from MN right now, especially when it is their hometown coach.

I just dont feel like this met the moment. Certainly not when you put it up against Kerr’s remarks.

  9. They’re supposed to have a home game in an hour. They should go. Stand for the pledge of allegiance, and then every player and coach should turn around and walk out.

They love America but they’re not doing this shit anymore.

  10. Fuck prayers. DO SOMETHING!

At the very least, call out the people responsible, Donald J Trump. Call your representatives, get out on the streets!

I’m watching the USA crumble before my eyes and it’s so sad to watch.

  11. I’m not sure what we expect Finch to say here. He is not an activist. He’s an NBA head coach.

But I’m glad he’s saying *something*

  12. Maybe he should tell people to stick to protesting and not antagonize federal agents. That might be more helpful.

  13. Now go yell/complain at ICE. Get a technical foul and ejected from a protest and maybe just maybe ICE will stop the bad calls.
