Bailey Ober becomes the first MLB player to acknowledge what is happening in Minneapolis

  1. Watch my Dodgers go meet this orange turd in the White House 🤦‍♂️

  2. Sadly many of them probably endorse what’s happening. Don’t look to athletes to be the ones to speak up about this. The American people have to come together to stop this madness.

  3. A large number of Baseball players probably support this very thing or, at the very least, have turned a blind eye because their best interest lies within silence.

  4. I’m not usually the person to comment on these posts, but I do legitimately believe that we’re gonna eventually see an agent open fire on a crowd and kill several dozen people.

  5. I don’t know much about Bailey but I also wouldn’t have guessed that he would be the first to post. Guess those Bluey cleats weren’t just for show.

  6. Spencer Strider just posted an image of the Boston Massacre and President Obama’s statements. feel like more will follow soon

  7. I unfortunately know how most of the players on my team (Cardinals) feel after the dumb MAGA hand signal they tried to pass off as a DJ hand signal a week or so after the fake assassination attempt… but it is nice to see the occasional bright spot in the sport. Good for Bailey.

  8. I just don’t understand how so many others are so quick to side with fascists. We have such a serious problem in this country and it somehow got worse since 2016

  9. Did this get auto removed by too many reports? Same thing happened in r/nba and they had to manually restore it. According to a mod comment the threshold was like 2 reports. Seems hilariously low.

  10. Insane that simply reposting a NYT photo of a protest is considered radical in MLB. Good for him though

  11. Hispanic players probably hesitant to say anything since we have a federal govt that is targeting people exclusively on skin color. And then most white baseball players are probably ok with it, just based on how the male general population tends to go these days(the fascist way)

  12. Whats shocking to me is how silent all these players have been

I think he might be the first player from a major sports team in Mlps to actually say something. The silence is wild.

    So much respect to him.

  13. His IG bio says “Follower of Jesus” and I think him speaking out on what’s going on here in Minneapolis makes him the only player allowed to say that in their bio.
