Glad to see him go
Who cares cry baby pads are a joke
Either way, he’s had great career. Yu doesn’t have anything to prove. If he retires, he’s doing The Padres a favor by doing it now. If he comes back, he comes back to help win a WS
Sign Max Scherzer.
I think Darvish might as well retire. There is no way he is going to fulfill that contract and we all know it. Maybe the Padres will buy part of it out or whatever but Darvish is moving on from the Padres. Not that big a deal because we knew we didn't have them for this season anyway And next season might be a lockout so this is the end of a great career for Yu Darvish. It's just too bad we always get the stars at the end of their careers 😁
I think the Japanese players because of their culture have too much pride to take money they aren't earning
I think the move should be if he does retire, offer him a front office job. He's a great baseball mind and I'd love to see him stay in the organization
Yu’s time with the Padres is over.
Please don't sign scherzer or verlander. We don't need to pay anymore aging players
This is a win win. We can get Darvish back eventually which is an arm (yes ik he’s old but an arm is an arm) AND we can save a ton of money with him voiding his contract
The amount of pressure being put on him by the fanbase is F’d up. Let the man decide what he’s doing. Cheap ass look for the franchise.
It’s really sad to see the Padres trying to bully Yu into retirement. AJ screwed up by handing out bad contracts. He’s owed every penny because that’s how baseball contracts work. You get paid based on past performance and projections. Sheel was right. Padres are racist and wouldn’t ask this of any other player. Joe Musgrove got to recover and rehab in peace without being harassed. AJ needs to be fired not extended. He’d only waste the money if Yu does retire.
Padres window to win has closed. No amount of new spending and acquisitions will change this fact. Yu’s contract is guaranteed. Stop 🛑 bullying and harassing the man because we didn’t take advantage of our window and the golden opportunity in 2024. That was the last best chance.
No, his agent just wants to get paid. That's the issue Yu if you like is done, he will not pitch in the major leagues again. He's old, that's a serious surgery. He's done.Give the padres that forty three million. So they can use it because he's useless. In fact as agent
Your a little young bro acee been wrong since you were in diapers but I get it acee is Jon and Jim’s boy so you got his Back
Padres fans only care about the money they will save.
A rendon buyout sounds more in line with both parties benefitting
Padres made the contract..honor it.
Ben, are you familiar with how a contract works?
He wants to be the Dodgers #6 starter in 2027 so he can play with Roki, Ohtani and Yamamoto. This is his way of getting out of the contract
Ur dreaming, nobody will give up that kind of money
Yu probably wants to retire now so that he won't have to move to Oakland after Joe Lacob buys the team.
