I love Willy. Seen him walking his dog around the UofT campus and he gave me a nod and smile.
He loves this city and our fans.
I wish he wouldn’t have apologized. I didn’t think he was flipping the bird to Leafs nation, just being silly in the moment. Could he have just avoided doing this, yes, but the outcry from it was beyond dramatic.

The whole thing was a nothing muffin to begin with, I thought it was funny, even if immature. It’s just hockey, it’s meant to be fun.

if willy had ripped a jersey taunting tavares out of an islanders fans hand the rest of the leagues fans would want him kicked out of the league, if Kolesar flipped off a camera nobody would notice or they would say it made him cool and fun. No matter what their opinion will always be whatever they can spin to be negative about the leafs it’s actually deranged.
According to Chris Johnson the league is investigating this and looking at potential punishment
