Even with that 1-9 stinker yesterday, Mikal is currently shooting 39% from 3. Let’s show a little respect.
Also it’s obvious that the coaching staff has limited his mid range shooting opportunities which is arguably his best ability.
He’s a good player and the piling on from the community is beyond corny.

Mrs. Bridges… go to sleep
His shooting numbers overall are solid. The issue with Bridges for me is just his overall lack of aggression. He took 14.5 fga last year and is currently at 12.7 fga. For someone I expected to be a consistent 3rd option he is really more like a 4th option. The question is will he be worth his contract of 30M+ when his extension kicks in?
Yeah he started the year off great and he’s been cold the last few weeks. If you’re looking at it from a overview perspective sure it’s good but he’s been not great during this losing stretch
Crybaby fanbase who needs a face to throw darts at.
When KAT plays decent, Mikal gets the heat. Just the way it goes.
Wish he would drive to basket and try to make a shot through contact more than once a game tho.
I had this same moment with KAT. So much is made of KAT having the worst offensive season of his career this year. But when they showed his season stats during the Sixers game, it said he’s still putting up 20 & 11 on 47/36/86 shooting splits. The way we talk about him you would’ve thought he completely fell off the cliff, but in reality he’s still having an all-star caliber season that would be a career year if it was another player.
This doesn’t excuse the roller coaster that is KAT & Mikal. But it is amazing how numbers doesn’t tell the whole story. Everything will look good if you only read the stat sheet or see a roster on paper.
Not recently he’s not, but, yeah, Mikal was solid up until the cup
Lol he’s like 3-11 every game. Last night his streak of missed shots allowed the other team to score many back to back buckets. Stop glazing Bridges just because we gave our future for him
Y’all are so quickly to forget.
If we didn’t have Mikal we would be salivating around this deadline to add someone just like him. The online fan mindset is all messed up.
My only negative criticism of his game, is that he shies away from contact. This effectively tanks his FTA, which for a shooter of his caliber is easy points. He doesn’t look to score in the paint, rather taking it back out to shoot a fadeaway jumper. Granted, he hits that shot but would like to see more aggressiveness to score.
It’s the nature of the internet.
“Fuck what you did last hour. What have you done for me in the last 2 minutes?”
He’ll be fine come playoffs
It’s the package we gave up. If he was signed as an FA or swapped straight up for Randle, there wouldn’t be this scrutiny. But also the fact that he’s allergic to contact also does not go over well. He could easily be getting more FTA’s but he always either dribbles away and pulls up or kicks it out. And to be honest almost all of his threes are wide open corner threes. There are plenty of NBA players who could shoot that well from there. I really wanted him on the team and was thrilled when that trade was announced but I’ve been extremely underwhelmed. He’s had his moments, don’t get me wrong. But he’s clearly the guy who said he didn’t want to play for Thibs in exit meetings and the package we gave up for him could’ve been used to get a Giannis. Not his fault but it’s got to be in the back of fan’s minds.
Yes
I was super excited to see him try dunking over Embiid. But then he was puffs plus the rest of the game.
Mikal is in a funk right now and had his worst offensive game of the season yesterday. That said he’s not part of the problem. OG has been struggling too. They are a streaky team comes with the territory.
He’s shooting a Brook Lopez 39% from 3 not a Kevin Durant 39% from 3. Most of his attempts from 3 are wide open shots
I love Mikal and will never forgot how clutch he was against Boston; we don’t win that series if it wasn’t for his plays on both ends in crunch time.
I think a lot of the hate comes from the amount of picks we gave up for the guy. It’s not his fault what we gave up for him, but we definitely paid the Nets tax and it was certainly an overpay.
He’s in a little funk for sure just like KAT is. I think they will figure it out but it’s frustrating
He also plays in the flow of the offense which is a very helpful skill. He cuts and moves well without the ball.
It’s fair that everyone wants him to play with more aggression but everyone winning team wants players that are deferential if you already have the 1A.
Try watching the actual games instead of looking at a stat sheet.
5 first round picks for a 4th option player ain’t it.
I’d trade him in a heartbeat.
Most Knicks casuals don’t understand losing funks and ready to trade mofos after every bad game.
None of this shit matters. People were crying last year too about Bridges then same people were on their knees for him when he blocked Tatum in the playoffs.
Take y’all anxiety medication and stop trying to karma post all the time sheesh lmao not everyone not you OP
Is that good?
stat watchers smh ya would say the same thing about cam payne but when you actually watch the games it feels like they miss way more
He’s a good player. If we need to ship him to get rid of the Kat contract we should do it.
But as long as he’s a knick I’m happy he’s a knick.
It’s what fans do..I’m fickle AF myself and know it…its NY..the most supportive, knowledgeable fan base in the country but also toughest.
Not everyone can play here but if you can and succeed its the best…ask Clyde..don’t think he’s paid for a meal or drink since 1970.:)
He should be avg 18-20 ppg
