Extend him!!!!!!
I'm glad he got everything else done that needed to happen. There should be no hurry to trade Donny, if nobody offers what you want it can be revisited at the trade deadline. Worse case we keep him and sign him long term. A young team needs a veteran.eader too.
Donovan’s versatility/value makes him easy to keep as you can move him around the Field to not block emerging Youth. Will see how the Poker Game goes in the coming Days😅
Dont forget about your Hiatus down in DFW in the 80’s….. Randy Galloway says Hey!
Sorry but Donovan needs to get traded
Bloom is being like Mo and over value him
He is a good player not a star
Donovan is a player that is hard to trade. When he is on your team you see how he makes your team better everyday and can fill so many holes. I think WAR can’t fully capture how much his versatility allows a team to matchup how they want to in order to maximize their lineup daily. It is hard to fully appreciate from the outside and thus it is hard to get the value you believe would be commensurate. They aren’t in the phase to be able to use a player like this to his fullest, but with his leadership abilities I wouldn’t be surprised to see him extended. If he is traded I think the national media will see whoever gets him to have overpaid.
Also I don’t know how much teams are valuing that second year of control with the cba.
Bloom had acquired quite a few pitching prospects and pitchers he can use this year. Add in the prospects the Cardinals already have and they not be in a position of need. At least not like the beginning of the offseason. Wetherholt will benefit from Donovan being here. Sounds like a win-win situation. Only Bloom will know when the trade offer is large enough to exceed the benefit of him being in the clubhouse. ✨
Keeping Donovan until you get the right offer makes sense, and that goes for JoJo and Nootbaar. This is only the fourth month of the Chaim era.
Donovan lives in Florida, right? So as long as they trade him to a Grapefruit League team, no harm no foul.
Maybe he lives in south Georgia but whatever…the point is it wouldn't be that inconvenient if it happens during spring training unless he has to go to Arizona.
I don't like the idea of Herra EVER catching. Way to brittle and we need his bat. Plus, Walker must earn his way onto the big league roster. If he is still a ground ball machine during spring training, let him develop at triple A – not in the big leagues.
There are other guys to trade. JoJo, Nootbar, and I believe Pages trade value may never be higher. Burlson on 1st, Donovan on 2nd, Wynn short, JJ on 3rd. Gorman and Saggese DH, and bench. Herrera at catcher until injured or ineffective. 3 more catchers are available as backup. Then, pick up a right-handed power hitting left-fielder. A few are available on 1 year reasonable contracts.
Why have Weatherholt on this team if there's no expectations of competing? If they really aren't going to compete Gorman deserves one last extended look. Why are you so insistent on benching the only power bat on a team that is so lacking on power?
There's nothing wrong with having veteran leadership in the clubhouse.
Any word about Nootbaar's recovery?
What can you get for Scott?
The real stakes are Brandon leaving st Louis. Big part of the puzzle. He's diffenley a keeper. Don't do it again.
