Zion had no problem exploding around Wemby all night. Just curious if the Spurs announcers made mention of how Zion was able to frustrate their guy all night
Did anyone watch the Spurs feed last night? I’m curious if the SA announcers had much to say about Zion’s game against Wemby

No they even stayed away from mentioning who was guarding Zion while he was left handed laying up or dunking over or around them. Their omissions would have only fooled a radio audience.
They also had no objections to the ludicrous offensive foul on DQ followed by the loose ball foul 5 seconds later
Obligatory comment: Every time I hear other teams’ announcers, I’m once again so grateful we have Joel and AD.
If only Z could play like this for every game.
Last year Wemby had this quote
“In a good way, some of them are really impressive and inspiring in the way they approach the game every night. But others that I used to like, now it’s like I’m just not sure they deserve it. Like they don’t seem like they put as much work in as I thought.”
I definitely could be projecting, but I assumed he meant Zion and Zion was playing like he thought it was about him too lol
Every time I see this matchup, Zion cooks Wembanyama. So interesting, cause I’ve literally never seen anyone else do it…

They mentioned it. It was mostly the same commentary “why are we respecting him at the 3 point line” “we should be further back” “if we were further back he’d had to work harder or settle for jumpers.”
That sort of exasperation. They recognized he was having a good night was an explosive player and was frustrated with how they guarded him. They also recognized we are a tough matchup for them because of Z.
