Jim Bowden EXPLAINS Why The ORIOLES Are The Only Place For Framber Valez

Former GM, Jim Bowden explains on Foul Territory why free agent, Framber Valdez needs to accept the fact that he’s not going to get better offers this off-season. He thinks the Baltimore Orioles are the only logical place for the MLB Starter to go.

  1. Framber or not, the bullpen looks like shit. Can’t count on anyone other than Kittredge, and I know bullpens can be made out of random guys overperforming, but hard to count on that. Good relief prospects like Nunez and Neighbors are also just a tad too far away to make a huge impact this season.

  2. It’s telling that Valdez went to the winter meetings with a slide deck titled “Why I’m a Great Guy” rather than “Why I’m a Great Pitcher”.

  3. Framber has to sign because knowing there is a lockout and what comes from that could effect his money. I’m sure the O’s have a good contract in front of him.

  4. You have to also realize agents promise these guys certain money and if they cant get that you can either have an unhappy player in denial waiting longer or an agent waiting longer trying to cover his own ass with a deal that will keep his client happy enough not to drop him

  5. Valdez will sign with the Giants, Yankees, or the Mets. He will not be an Oriole or he would have signed by now! Valdez is NOT worth 6yrs at 180mill. Elias should be fired if he pay's this price!

  6. Gallon will get his brains beat in playing for any ALE team. So, that leaves the abundance of retreads like Bassett! Elias dug himself one deep hole and Valdez is NOT the answer, only a cancer. I'd rather see the O's sign Bauer at this point in time! At least he can pitch consistently and he is an ACE!
