In this episode of The Flock Rundown, we break down the Baltimore Ravens hiring Mike Mickens as their new defensive backs coach and why this move matters. We dive into Mickens’ background at Notre Dame and his strong connection with new head coach Jesse Minter, and how this could shape the Ravens’ secondary moving forward.

We also discuss the Ravens interviewing Joe Cullen for their vacant defensive coordinator position and what that signals about the direction of the defense. Plus, we take a look at the remaining offensive coordinator options and why clarity on the full coaching staff could be coming very soon.

We get into more staff members heading to New York to join John Harbaugh, why it’s notable that Dennard Wilson was chosen over Zach Orr as DC, and what that decision could mean long-term.

To wrap things up, we congratulate Mike Macdonald on reaching the Super Bowl and share his high praise for Jesse Minter β€” a strong endorsement as Baltimore turns the page and builds its next era.

  1. Let me tell you as an Notre Dame fan this guy produces DB's like Leonard Moore, Benjiman Morrison, and with Kyle Hamilton he had 4 interceptions.

  2. ALLS i know is that Minter BETTER bring Tart, Oweh, and Mack along with him back into the Flock to shore up our pass rush and defensive line's interior!πŸ’ͺπŸΏπŸ™πŸΏπŸ‘Ώ

  3. Bro the fact that the media is lumping us in with Shittsburgh and the MiseraBills is insaneπŸ˜πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ We getting that chip soon, TRUZZ

  4. Im forever holding a grudge against john harbaugh for putting our pro bowl filled defense in the hands of zach orr, total disgrace, had backups looking like tom brady and the dline dropping back in coverage, thank god that nightmare is over

  5. Harbaugh lost his job because he hired the wrong people as OC and DC.Zach Orr didn't have enough experience calling plays and Monken didn't come through in the big games when he went away from Derrick Henry and the run.

  6. Why not talk about Scottie Montgomery. When it comes to OC you’re saying what we know. What was the point of showing the report on the screen just to talk about the same names we’ve been hearing about instead of … you know the new interview…. ? πŸ€¦πŸ½β€β™‚οΈ

  7. I really like this hire, he's going to make our secondary one of the best. Harbaugh did his self in after the 23 season. We lost a lot of coaches on the defense and them coach Joe D. passed away. All of the coaches Harbaugh brought in were subpar, and he refused to make a change. I would have liked Weaver as our dc, but we'll see who Minter picks.

  8. Minter was a GA at CIncinnati when Mickens played at there, and then Minter was DC at Indiana State in '12 when Mickens came over as a defensive assistant.
By the way, the linebacker coach at ISU under Jesse? His dad, Rick Minter, who was head coach at Cincinnati when John Harbaugh was the special teams coordinator and Rex Ryan DC.
Rick was a special assistant with the Chargers this year. Expect him to come to Baltimore in a similar role. So, those who were annoyed by John Harbaugh referencing Jack Harbaugh, brace yourselves πŸ˜‰
