Victor Wenbanyama about the events in Minnesota: Spurs PR has tried to train me, but I don’t want to be politically correct. It’s crazy that people make it seem like the murder of innocent civilians is acceptable

  1. Really fortunate to have an NBA future of someone as exciting and charismatic as Ant and someone as humble and intelligent as Wemby. Both faces of the league for different reasons among being exceptional talent.

  2. As a player who technically could have his immigration messed with, this speaks so loudly. A lot of American players haven’t commented and they have significantly less risk

  3. Love the response by Wemby.

And, frankly, it drives home how flaccid the Wolves’ players responses have been. Wemby is an international player playing on a Visa. He also has a huge spotlight on him with plenty of potential endorsements that could be fucked with. He was instructed to keep things lowkey and he STILL said “fuck that, I’m speaking out”

The Wolves players live in this community and couldn’t manage anything even half as inspired.

  4. WOW THE FRENCH ARE BETTER THAN THE AMERICANS AT CALLING OUT MURDER.

Horrible week besides Hali and Clark having the balls to call it murder.

  5. WNBA and foreign players have relatively the most to lose by speaking out, but they still gave better, more direct answers than our own team, who have the least to lose by speaking out, damn

  6. It’s really sad that so few Minnesota players have met the moment.

It also feels like if this had happened in Trump’s first term, they (and other athletes) would have been much bolder in their words.

The 24 election really neutered a lot of people.

  7. Too bad our players are too pussy to show up for the fans who show up for them night in and night out.

  8. Damn he just said “they told me not to say it but fuck that why y’all letting them kill innocent civilians?” Wemby is a real one. God I hope he doesn’t get corrupted.

    Also, Fuck ICE
