[Bowden]The Nationals will look to deal Abrams for a package of three-to-five good prospects. Solid potential trade partners also include the Red Sox, Yankees, Padres and Mariners.
This wouldn’t make sense for the padres unless it’s for depth. But this wouldn’t be a good deal for depth. There are cheaper options
I don’t see how/why the Padres would involved on this list. Not saying I don’t like CJ but we kinda already have SS covered, unless they plan to move him to the outfield lol
No thanks
Lol
No thx
Wood better
Abrams to 2nd, Jake to 1B. Those future CJ Abrams Sycuan Casino ads gonna be fire.

We gave them an insane package for Soto and they’ve done Jack fuck with it. Nationals after 2019 have been dreadful
Should’ve gone after Gore instead if we want anyone out of Washington.
Bowden usually just writes random teams in free agent / trade predictions. This is unlikely to happen for a number of a reasons (we don’t have the prospects we aren’t going to outbid giants who already failed, we don’t have more space in the infield outside of first/dh, you rarely go back to a player you traded away)
Do we have 5 good prospects?
The Soto trade keeps the punches coming, Gore turned into 3-4 prospects just by himself, CJ, 4-5, wow! Please be patient AJ, you drafted an all start team, let them get to the MLB please! So glad Merrill Madness made it.
Eh im good
Best I can do is our entire farm system for him
But I *wood* rather not trade for him. Get it? Get it? I’m so funny hahahahaha
We really don’t have the prospect depth to go after him to seriously. And the few pieces we do have might be better mortgaged for starting pitching which remains really shaky.
Wouldn’t be surprised if he ends up on the Giants or a big market East Coast team.
Do agree with the article that CJ likely ends up playing 2nd base at some point sooner rather than later.
but can he play SS?
/s
How about a lightly used Wandy Peralta and our number 12-15 prospects?
Sycuan would probably be willing to chip in some money.
No thanks.
Pass
I like CJ a lot, and I hope he has a great career somewhere, but he’s not what we need atm. A reliable and solid starter or power bat may be more the ticket. That said, I’d be more for building out our farm system again than letting go of what little we have left..
I dont see how or why the Padres would be on this list. Gore made way more sense to trade back for than C.J.
