Caufield would find a way to snipe it in the top of the net
Something wong with the goalie. badum tsk!
If all goalies were like this Caufield would score 100+ goals every season.
An NHL sniper would totally pick apart these holes
Unless your idea is making montembault look good compared to him, then yes, it would work
Modern problems require modern solutions 🤷♂️
Hiroshi Yamangémamoto is the missing ~~pièce~~ unit
Caulfield could still score.
No more AI slop please
Former Isles owner Charles Wang once seriously asked his GM about doing this.
Can you still pull the goalie? Or do you need to push him?
Max gear dimensions would mean they would have a lot of exposed areas. And considering how players can still find the smallest holes against NHL goalies who can move, someone of this size who can’t move has no chance, as seen in the videos linked.
It’s funny that there are some positions in sports that don’t require someone to look athletic. Prime example would be pitchers for MLB or an offensive line in the NFL. But make no mistake, those guys athleticism would surprise you most of the time. That said, you need great reflexes and you do need athleticism to play goal in hockey. Without those you won’t be able to react quick enough.
>He simply needs to stay conscious. At risk of being morbid, this man knows his days are numbered soon anyways. There’s a high likelihood he’d prefer to go out with a blaze of glory. He’d make millions and be a hero to millions more.
Anyone else familiar with that WP Kinsella short story about the Hobbema Wagonburners? This has “we taped two jerseys together and put Mad Etta in net” written all over it lol
No, he needs to have a mask on, after that yeah all good
It’s fun to bash on goaltenders, but when all 3 of your goaltenders have AVV in the bottom of the barrel, then something is up.
There could be a lot of speculation on what is going on but I’m going back to our defensive system. I hate man to man with a passion and it’s often the cause of our problems. Too many times, when you look at replays, you see a guy missing his man and creating a AAA scoring chance where any Vezina trophy winners would have a hard time making the save 50% of the time. Yes, we sometimes often limit opponents to a few shots but most of them come from the danger zone. It’s amazing.
I know, apparently, half the league uses man to man but none of them are Stanley cup contenders. All I know is, I believe, the last time I checked, the last 5-10 cup winners all played zone coverage defence in the playoff. Funny enough, the year before their last Stanley cup, The Avalanche was playing man to man and the year they switched to zone coverage, they won the cup.
The other portion of our problem is the “hybrid” man to man we are playing. It’s man-to-man high in the zone (blue line) with zone coverage near the net. The issue is when players cycle between the two portions of the zone and it creates confusion and missed assignments and then you get caufield in the front of the net trying to clear the front against Tkachuk. Seriously, if there was one thing I’d like St-Louis to wake up, it would be to give up man-to-man and go for zone coverage. I’m pretty sure our goalie’s AVV would rise up and we would not be here complaining about it as much.
NYI owner tried to convince his GM to draft/use a sumo in goal.

Pas illégal, vraiment
Pas pratique, vraiment
No no goalie mask illegal
There are no humans this size. The ones that come close are severely handicapped
I thought that was Roman Cechmanek
Illegal, need a helmet

That’s what Monty used to look like last year, I miss him
Even if, Cole is sniping that all day. No one covers 24 square feet.

damn the user who posted [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/xoxke7/yes_the_worlds_largest_man_would_be_the_worlds/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) deleted their account, depriving us of a record of their analysis… but i always enjoyed that the paint image they drew was with a Habs ‘uniform’ lol

i found one quote from it though lol;

Why don’t teams do this? Someone must have tried, right?
Im down af, let’s get Fat Bastard between the pipes and we’ll go undefeated
So, the Habs need to scout people on My 600-Hundred Pound Life. Nice.
Didn’t one of the Islanders owners try this in the early 2000s?
Yes it would be legal. Thats actually what they do in lacrosse.
