This is hilarious

  1. Doesn’t really matter now that they’re here. But yeah I *expect* the Seahawks to win and if we lose it will probably be due to a mistake we make.

  2. The people in the pats sub are truely delusional lol.

“Seattle just played two of the weaker defenses in the league, and Darnold is always waiting to turn into a pumpkin, especially when he’s pressured. Seattle doesn’t have a ton of weapons other than JSN, and we have one of the best corners in the league who can keep him under control.

I’m not saying it’s going to be easy, but I think people who just look at scores and stats without context are going to be in for a surprise at how bad Seattle’s offense suddenly looks. And I wouldn’t be surprised if Maye looks like a star again when he’s given some decent weather to play in.”

190 upvotes btw. Patriots are forgetting the Seahawks play in the NFC WEST. And the patriots couldn’t even smoke a second string qb who’s hadn’t played in two years. I usually don’t like being cocky for games but these guys are going to be in for a HUGE surprise when our d-line comes beating down their block…

  3. They’re still in the Super Bowl. We can’t discount the opponent, their defense has been lights out and it’s going to be a challenge.

  4. This makes me laugh because truly, as a former Cincinnati local, Zac Taylor should’ve been fired two years ago. So the fact that he’s not in the “fired coach” column isn’t a testament to a good win. It’s a reminder how bad the Bengals front office is.

  5. I hope our team isn’t playing down the Patriots as much as the fans and pundits are lol Over the last decade or so we have seen many underdogs with the supposed weak schedule end up lifting the Lombardi.

Unless you’re a completely terrible team like the Jets, with good coaching, healthy roster, and execution, you can beat anyone, even the teams you’re not supposed to beat.

I am confident our team will be having a parade in downtown Seattle, but I’m not going to fall into the “easy schedule” or “Patriots are frauds” narrative.

  6. The thing that really stands out to me in this graphic is that the Jets somehow didn’t fire their HC, despite Glenn being a defensive-minded coach that somehow managed to not scheme up a single interception for an entire season.

  7. What do you want them to do? Change the schedule that they don’t make? We’ve been on the receiving end of similarly bad takes. Just play the game.

  8. Well. They still better show up and play. Cuz we know that the Patriots HC wasn’t fired. He can coach his ass off and will have his team ready

    G0 HAWKS

  9. Did it matter when Brady was beating up the worst division in football for all of those years?
The Patriots are the best AFC team and they are our opponent in the big game and we need to beat them. That’s all that matters and when the game is over nobody will care about who either team played to get there.

  10. The Seahawks shouldn’t underestimate them, regardless of how they got there. But I’m pretty confident in this team’s ability to prepare for an opponent, and I think this defense is going to be particularly hard on a 2nd year QB.

  11. The Jets didn’t fire their coach? Well I guess the coach doesn’t matter with Brick at the wheel

  12. I mean yeah their schedule was easy, but so was the schedule for the rest of the AFC East. They all played their 6 conference games, they all played the same 4 teams in the AFC North, and they all played the same 4 teams from the NFC South. The Patriots did what good teams do and they won those games. Every year there will inevitably be a team or division with the easiest schedule, and they don’t end up in the Superbowl. Thinking this Pats team is below average is a recipe for disaster.

  13. We really need Lazy Boy or Serta to do a commercial comparing their softest mattress to the Patriots schedule.

  14. If the Pats replaced the Cardinals in the NFC West they would have also finished in last place this season. SB 60 will be similar to SB 48.

  15. I don’t think any team makes it into the superbowl through luck. You definitely need some but on your side, but you also need to be good enough to take advantage of that luck. Patriots made it this far and deserve to be there, and they are the biggest threat we have faced this season.

  16. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves. They beat the best two defenses in the AFC on their way into the SB. Granted both were low scoring affairs with one terrible offense (Houston) and one impacted by weather (Denver)

  17. I’m tellin you man do not underestimate this patriots team, this is how disasters happen.

  18. Please do not just shrug off this matchup. It’s the god damn Super Bowl, and they stand between us and a 2nd Lombardi.

  19. At the end of the day, they are an NFL team that has made it to the Superbowl, no matter who they played.

That being said, it is the Seahawks game to lose. The Seahawks can definitely win but they must play like they can lose.

  20. Be humble now. Be cocky after you win the Super Bowl. Take care of business first.

  21. Look I haven’t followed the Pats that closely all year, but they never played like a team we could sleepwalk over. Watched them harass all the playoff QBs pretty consistently, and that’s the best way to get Darnold off his game in a big moment like this.

  22. Let’s not fall into a trap here . The patriots are extremely talented. They have very good receivers, very good CB’s, extremely talented QB that is duel threat. Really good RB’s. Their defense is great . This is a huge threat

  23. Also, playoffs

    Team with lame QB

    Team with lame QB

Team with literally lame QB and playing a backup

That said I wouldn’t say beating them is absolute but I like our chances

  24. I’ve been genuinely perplexed by Patriots fans’ overconfidence.

If I was in their position (which I have been along with all other Seahawks fans lol) I would not be confident at all.

I would see the record and be like “dang. We won a lot of games” but then I would realize that they only had 3 games against playoff teams and only won 1 of them and my confidence would wain almost immediately lol.

And another thing is that they have not looked compelling all year.

I know it was just week 1, but they lost to the Raiders in week 1.

We lost in week 1 too but at least it was against a team that actually made it into the playoffs and actually won a playoff game.
