They don’t seem to like to use free agency very much. I would prepare myself for a similar “haul”.
Just out of curiosity, what is the alternative?
People have to remember this roster was dogshit when AP and DQ came in. We are still a year or 2 away from having the team filled out. It’s gonna take some of these 1 – 2 year contracts just to have a decent roster. If we are doing this 3 – 4 years from now, then we have a real problem.
There’s no way of knowing we’d have that many injuries after the Green Bay game in week 2. Our season started falling apart after that.
we need to build through the draft.
no GOOD teams build through free agency
I don’t mind this FA approach so we can build through draft, but that means you need top end impact players in the draft. You need impact players with 1st and 2nd round picks, and credible starters with 3rds and later. Not special teamers, not backups, not rotational guys, not guys who regress. And it also means not trading picks away.
I stand by Jacob Martin.
If it does happen again and we’re picking top 10 next year.
Everyone can go as far as I’m concerned. AP hasn’t done shit besides draft JD. Which it was probably JD or Maye. So if JD doesn’t have a bounce back year. Was that the right pick?
Weren’t they under the cap by 30 million this season!
Please AP for the love of god sign at least 1 top tier defensive player this FA. Our roster is ass and the draft alone isn’t gonna fix it
Something has to give if the Commies want to improve (or fail fast). They really don’t maximize draft options or high risk/high reward free agents.
I mean honestly this wasn’t all that bad. Kinlaw was an upgrade over Allen and was cheaper/younger. Harris got injured but was ok when healthy and way better than alternatives. Wise played well until he was injured. Martin was a bright spot.
The others are all JAGS, but no big whiffs. Even our trades for Tunsil and Deebo look pretty good, and we had a good draft.
It seems like we either had guys who played good to great last year playing poorly (Sanristil, Luvu), or injured (JD, Terry, Brown, seemingly everyone). Also Whitt was did a terrible job of scheming and playcalling.
We were awful last year despite actually having a good offseason. Thats how bare Ron left the cupboard.
it’s the anti Snyder. Snyder would just blow the cap on spending big name players regardless of system. guys like Josh Norman who didn’t fit because we didn’t play the defensive system he played in Carolina.
we are signing depth guys.

They don’t need to be off season winners anymore. They just need to find the right pieces.
I guarantee you AP told Josh Harris it would be 5 years before we would have a baseline good roster. I imagine they also hired DQ with that expectation in mind. That’s why a culture guy is so important
We either trade picks, blow our cap, or have signings like these.
We build through the draft. If the FO fails to do that they are gone (probs end of 2027 season if things don’t get better).
Free agents can fill holes but the core of our team should be drafted.
You’re right it can’t, Kinlaw and Will Harris are still under contract.
Be prepared for another year of this. A very important draft coming up with limited picks but a very high first round one. DQ probably out by end of next season after we go 7-10 or 8-9. Then probably the most important off season of Jayden Daniels, Adam Peters and Josh Harris’ tenure. If the offense gets this team 7 to 8 wins next season, consider Blough for head coach.
🤢
I’m more concerned about the draft. AP has to hit big on this first round pick.
Harris and wise are good players
😂 Definitely didn’t work. However, injuries were the main cause for this season failure.
I continue to be puzzled by some in this forum that, despite universal agreement that Dan Snyder did such damage to a successful and respected franchise, seemingly believe his reactionary approach to running this team is the way to go.
We have 35 free agents. You can expect more of this.
I don’t really hate those signings. Losing wise early was a major hit to the roster imo. He was primed for a good season.
