  1. The carousel for that no. 40 spot on the roster continues. We’re swapping out Luciano for Dom Hamel. Luciano has been DFAed 4 times this winter, Hamel 3 times. That can’t be fun.

Sandridge is the move for Bellinger. He had a mixed season in the minors for us last year (13.3 K/9 but 4.66 ERA).

  2. I have to believe Luciano will be on someone’s 40-man by spring. If I was him I’d just be resting and working out, I assume he still has some sort of agent who can juggle all these DFAs and claims. Just tell him who he ends up with in a few weeks

  3. They could have traded Sandridge to Minnesota as part of a package for Ryan Jeffers. The Twins were looking for high upside bullpen arms and the Yankees should not give them one for free. What’s the point of collecting these flea market players if you’re just going to re-gift them to the in-laws?

Jeffers has only a year of control left. Sandridge and Jake Bird would be a good deal for Jeffers and add a right handed bat and some offense at catcher.
