I at least respect that he, ESPN and other media organizations are specifically calling out Dungy and Polian. Those two orchestrated it and are way too cowardly to admit it.
Jimmy has been banging this drum for decades. The fact that more coaches haven’t come forward is shameful. Most of the ire of spygate is around a story that was retracted (and apologized for) and conjecture. The actual story is pretty boring.

It’s why I don’t really care about SpyGate or BountyGate. It was common practice and more about protecting the image of the league than punishing cheating.
Deflategate differs in that it was about protecting the image of the league because of something that *didn’t* happen.
The interesting thing about all of this, you have rival fans calling Bill a cheater and all that. Yet, the entire football world, guys who are the most knowledgeable and talented at the game, represent the game far more than the most loyal fan. ALL of these guys are coming to Bill’s side…so they are all wrong?

I always thought SPYgate was a bit much. I thought scouts we’re allowed into other team practices and assumed recordings were normal for business purposes. Was a bit surprised to find out it is treated as top secret and teams have serious issues when going off script.

During the Patriots first dynasty, so many players and coaches pretended like they weren’t trying to gain competitive advantages through breaking the rules.
Every team has had steroid users. Teams pump in artificial crowd noise. Teams have encouraged players to injure opposing superstars. I’m sure a lot more teams than we know of were tampering with the air in footballs and trying to steal signs.
Was Belichick a little too aggressive about it? Maybe. But I don’t think the story ever breaks if Mangini doesn’t get hired by the Jets, and if the Patriots weren’t as successful as they were.
Regardless, every team has broken rules to try to gain an edge in some form or fashion.
This is a witch hunt by a select group of voters on the committee. And they don’t have the balls to just come out and say that they think Bill is a prick, and they want to stick it to him.
espn knew that all the other teams were stealing defensive signals, but they reported the Patriots as the only ones. espn stopped being sports news, then. They devolved into sports tabloids, and have been more than dishonest in their reporting. It’s a shame they destroyed their own brand by being shitty people.
Cowher has said similar stuff at least the guy has the balls to admit the truth meanwhile Mr fake crowd noise Polian pretends like he’s a saint.

The funny thing about both Spygate and Deflategate is after they got “caught,” they got BETTER. If the team was getting such a great advantage because of their “cheating,” wouldn’t they have been exposed as frauds?

Jimmy Johnson came on the FOX Pre-game show days after Spygate happened and said everyone does it and said people get more of an advantage from looking at the All-22 shots during the game.
Which it was such a good point, teams look at aerial shots of plays and formations during the game of stuff that just happened but somehow a guy pointing a camera at some hand signals was some cheat code lol
Bill Polian pumped in fake crowd noise in Indianapolis and cranked up the heat during the AFC Championship Game because the Pats were dealing with a flu outbreak. Wrong Borges was fired for plagiarism. Cheaters should have their vote stripped. They’re about as trustworthy as gas station sushi
