crazy that any company would want to associate themselves with us

  1. Always liked how the Sox were one of the few MLB teams to not have any ads on their jerseys. Unfortunate

  2. That’s a shame. It was so nice having a uniform unsullied by ads.

And yes, I know it theoretically means more money to spend on players. I also have a bridge to sell you.

  3. It was only a matter of time. I’m honestly shocked they held out as long as they did.

  4. I hate jersey ads, but my biggest question is why were the Sox the last team to get one? Did Jerry just not want them, or were the previous offers just too low?

  5. At least it’s connected to Chicago history. All the way to the Chicago Butter and Egg Board. It’s very fitting for the white Sox if we had to get ads. Way better than a dumb Rate patch.

  6. Gross.

Vienna beef or Modelo are the only jersey ad’s I would’ve been alright with. Even those would’ve bothered me a bit still.

It was only a matter of time though, sad to see these jersey ads taking over the game.

  7. Gross. Took some pride in the fact that we were some of the last holdouts on ads. Thought maybe there was some line that Jerry wouldn’t cross, but that’s on me lol.

At the very least, they’re color matching the patch so it’s not more of massive eyesore than it already is (lookin at you Seattle)

  8. We really got an exchange to sponsor us when Jerry is one of the most frugal and risk adverse owners in all sports. Hilarious

  9. I hate the idea of ad patches, I even hate the Nike swoosh on the uniforms. But this is good in that it’s more money for the team, it’s a Chicago company, and it’s not something dumb like gambling, crypto, or bullshit like “He Gets Us”

  10. I’m sad they have ads on their sleeves now, but at least it’s a local company that is a huuuuge part of Chicago history. Without the CME (and CBOT, of which they merged), there is no Chicago as we formerly knew it. I knew it was only a matter of time, sadly.

  11. Whatever helps improve the product on the field … surely we’ll use that sponsorship money to sign more players /s

  12. Fuck jersey sponsors. Don’t buy any new merch. There are plenty of good jerseys on ebay for less money and higher quality.
