  1. Oh that’s cool! Can someone share what they said? I’m really curious how they’d reimburse something like that.

  2. I had to look up what happens to those this morning, cleaned and given to One Roof foundation.

So even if the hat trick is overturned, still goes to kids..I’d be OK with that either way, but classy move by them..

  3. “Limited to attendees of the 1/27/2026 Kraken game, first 1,000 entries received by 1/29/2026 at 5PM PST.”

  4. With the cost of a good hat these days, man… that’s like $30-50 a pop. Fans need to bring a disposable hat with them.

  5. Was the injury apparent, or did it look like a high stick, with no obvious injury at the time of infraction? The liney, basically didn’t see enough reason to call it a double-minor, so they don’t have the authority to stop play. It wasn’t until after the play had already stopped before they could confirm there was an injury caused by the high stick. Even if he came to show an injury after the infraction, it still needs to link back to the specific injury. That’s why it required a video review.

The sacrifice is, in a rare situation there is a goal being the natural end of the play, review it. It’s just how the rules work.

Even if the Liney didn’t see it, Toronto can still call it back if someone in Toronto saw the high stick—and only if it would be assessed as a double minor would it be called back. Only confirmed injuries can call back goals at that point, video evidence + looking with their eyes at the player and confirming an injury occurred. That’s how the rules play out.

    Everyone did their job.
