ENCORE: Can Milwaukee Brewers RELY on Christian Yelich to Produce MVP Numbers AGAIN?

Christian Yelich’s resurgence powers optimism for the Milwaukee Brewers, but can the veteran be productive again this season

Chuck Freimund breaks down what to expect from Yelich over the final years of his contract, dissecting last season’s surprise production, lingering injury concerns, and the star’s ongoing October struggles. With Yelich batting .264 with 29 homers and 103 RBIs in 2025, is another big year on the horizon, or will age and health catch up?

Milwaukee’s top-ranked farm system also commands the spotlight, as Chuck Freimund explores how young talents like Jackson Chourio and Joey Ortiz could reshape the roster. Listener questions spark lively debate on pitching depth, the catching situation, and which former Brewers great deserves to have their number retired next. Can Milwaukee’s youthful pipeline and Yelich’s leadership push the Brewers closer to a long-awaited World Series?

  1. Actually his Best Season here was the Year he got injured right before or during the Playoff's 2 or 3 years ago since then, it's been a Bag of
    HOT AIR & WHIFF

  2. The Brewers are paying for 3 years of a usable DH Christian Yelich, it's not if he's MVP caliber of the MLB rather if he's MVP caliber of the Brewers. The Brewers philosophy doesn't allow sacrificing resources at the cost of dumping salary, or the Brewers would've traded him to extend Pat Murphy and give deferral contracts to Jesus Made and Luis Pena.

  3. I expect young players like Chourio, Turang, Durban, and Frelick too all get better as they gain experience. I believe with better play around him It makes Yelich more productive and valuable. Maybe this is just being hopeful. We'll see.

  4. Thanks for telling it the way it is with Yelich. He was good in postseason in 2018 when we had Braun and Fielder. But since then when he has been goto guy he is just a deer in the headlights in the postseason. Not a single rbi since 2018, same look striking out against Nationals Braves Mets and this falls disaster. I was hoping the horrible batting was a Counsell thing and Murphy was going to get him and the team hitting. He just doesn't hit when the pressure is on and it means something. Team is stuck with him and contract unless he works hard to get his head, back, and swing in order. Take away 2018 and what would his postseason average be?

  5. The Brewers can rely on Yelich to produce when we are playing the Pirates and up 7 runs. He's not a clutch player and seemingly forgets how to hit in the post season. He can't even hit the ball out of the infield.
Look at his career post season stats. You think he's suddenly going to be Mr October at this stage in his career?

  6. If you compare the number of clunker ground outs to second base, to clutch hits and home runs you will get your answer to Yelli's reliability… Seems he is playing with a chip on his shoulder, I get the impression he isn't excited about the game much this past season.

  7. I saw a report about Yelich and Bellinger had mvp years when the ball was denser 'juiced'. MLB then switched to a softer ball. Both players subsequently have struggled since
