I know the vibes are elevated since yesterday and its easy to talk shit now. But we all can be honest and realize we have lost to the Rangers plenty of times and in embarrassing fashion.

HOWEVER,

Does anyone else notice the paradoxical nature of Rangers fans when it comes to the Isles/Rangers rivalry? It seems Rags fans love to talk shit and beat down on us when they are good, but as soon as the Isles smack them around and they suck its “the rivalry doesn’t mean much anymore” or “beating the Rangers is the Islanders Stanley Cup” or “ we should beat them they are tanking” or my favorite and the most common one, anything to do with being the “little brother.”

I just noticed it a lot the past 24 hours. If they win, its a big deal and the Isles suck. If they lose, it’s meaningless and somehow the Isles still suck.

Can’t be the only one lol

  1. Pretty sure every major rivalry works in a similar fashion, like you can trade Rangers/Islanders for Yankees/Mets and it wouldn’t read too dissimilar despite how fundamentally different that rivalry is.

  2. The winter classic outdoor game still stings a lot. But sweeping them this season as they sell for parts has helped sooth things
