I’m not sure most people realize how insane Judge is. 3 seasons with a wRC+ over 200. Trout never even had one and Harper’s unbelievable first MVP was 197.

  2. “Best hitter in the league” sells him so short. People see an OPS starting with 1 and don’t realize how exponentially more rarified air each incremental piece of OPS above that is.

    This is the greatest non juiced hitter the league has seen in 70 years. We should take this run in for as long as it lasts and appreciate it

  4. As a Red Sox fan I hate him but as a baseball fan I wish a very Aaron Judge rakes against everyone besides Boston and the Yankees don’t win the World Series to all who celebrate

  6. The fact that he won his mvps beating out Shohei with a crazy two way season, Bobby Witt jr putting 9+ war, and cal hitting 60 dingers is actually nuts

    Get rid of the steroid era, and he stands out even more.

  10. So far, Aaron Judge has the 3rd highest career wRC+ (178) of all time, behind Babe Ruth (197) and Ted Williams (188), ahead of guys like Bonds, Gehrig, Mantle, etc.

  11. I would say:

    Offense only(prime years) = Judge over Trout.

    Overall player(prime years) = Trout over Judge.

    And I can never forget the drop ball in Game 5 of the 2024 World Series.

  12. I firmly believe that he is on his way to be the greatest right handed slugger of all time.

    He’s not just a power guy either. He can hit for contact AND draw walks too. His early career criticisms were that he struck out too much and he was not great against off speed pitches like curves and sliders. However, if you look at his last 5 years, elite contact regardless the pitch type, ridiculous walk rate and well below strike out rate for sluggers.

  13. I think it’s pretty obvious that Judge is easily the best hitter in the game, that much everyone knows and it’s been like that for a while. It’s his playoff performances that has held him back, even amongst Yankee fans who are probably the loudest in that department. It’s the Yankee penalty, where all the past success undermines anything current players do. If Judge had signed with the Giants instead, I think his accomplishments would be more appreciated and rightfully so.

  17. As someone who watches 130+ Yankee games each year it’s hard to describe what it’s like when Judge is locked in. You genuinely feel like he’s gonna hit a home run every at bat. And it’s not just “big man hit ball far” Judge is seriously a smart player and has adjusted to the league’s adjustments to him. Every opposing pitcher game plans for him when they’re slated to play the Yankees but it doesn’t matter.

  24. Judge is one of the 5 greatest right handed hitters of all time. Esp if you remove roid users.

    Mike Trout is Mickey Mantle and that comparison only gets more accurate with time.

  26. Trout has never been a better hitter than Judge, but he’s well known because of his 5-tool.

  27. What makes him even more of a Unicorn is he’s 6’7.” That height makes it much more difficult to cover the strike zone and he can do it with his exceptionally fast hands.
