  1. Alot of old Browns staff, guess we’ll see if it really is the ownership holding Browns back or if the coaching was an issue. Hopefully its the former.

  2. Pats fan, I think he helped Maye’s development immensely last year. All his issues started tightening up as the year went on with AVP as the OC.

  3. Patriots fans seem to think highly for the work he did with Maye during his rookie season, like this hire.

  4. He played a major role in improving Baker’s footwork and mechanics in 2020. Pats fans also seem to give him credit for developing Maye last year.

I like how experienced most of our hires are. Rees will be very supported as play caller.

  5. Matt must have seen that press conference where Penix mentioned not having people to talk to.

  6. Sounds like he’ll be the guy that the Falcons maybe were missing last year…the coach that sits and breaks things down with Penix in between series instead of Mike just sitting alone.

  7. Can’t wait to see who is actually taking snaps week 1. Cousins signing a new cheaper deal (doubtful)? Penix fully healed (doubtful)? Regardless, better see this qb coach next to the qb helping him on the sidelines.

  8. Wonder how much Penix will get to work with him, I imagine he won’t be out throwing for a bit while he strengthens the leg

  9. “Alex Van Pelt may not have been the genius offensive schemer that everybody was looking for, but he was really good when it came to the fundamental stuff.” -From an NBC journalist last year

I like to hear that. If we do stick with Penix leading the charge then the fundamentals is exactly what he needs to work on.

  10. Pats fan here — echoing what others have said, the coaching staff last year was a complete disaster, with the exception of AVP. I really think he did a great job developing Maye as the season went on. Excited to see what he can do in Atlanta with Penix
