This past November, I finally got Stevie’s autograph, 22 years after getting his jersey as a birthday gift. The front is covered with autographs of other players over the years, and I’ve been waiting for this one for so long! Forever my favorite player.

  3. Story time, dude – how did it happen? Personally, I believe Stevie has one of the sweetest sigs of all time. He has three different styles though (you can kind of see them if you looks) spread out with a full last name, spread out and mini last name and lastly a mini on top Sscibble and mini on bottom Yscribble. You got lucky, my man. 

  5. Some things are worth waiting for. The signature is beautiful and I agree that Steve has a really impressive signature.

    I’ve been a fan since 1996 (I was 13 years old) and when the best captain of all time hoisted the cup I really wanted that Nike jersey. It couldn’t be bought in Europe and if it was, the price was huge and only possible on order.

    After 28 years, I bought a Nike jersey with the 97 SC patch and my favorite captain thanks to Reddit in early January. It’s now at the post office and waiting for customs clearance. I can’t wait and I’m really nervous that it will be okay.

    I probably won’t live to see the signature, maybe in the next life. 🙂

    I really hope you get the signed jersey, enjoy it and more such happy Steve Yzerman fans. He’s a legend and having a signed jersey is truly the hockey grail.

  7. Shortly after Yzerman retired, a family friend knew Yzerman was going to be the guest in his companies corporate suite. He knew what a big Wings fan I am, and since he didn’t want anything signed for himself (not a hockey fan) he asked what I wanted signed.

    So I gave him my white Yzerman jersey with the 2002 Cup Final patch. I got a personalized message & his signature, it was fantastic.

    I still haven’t gotten it framed, it just sits in my closet under the protection of a couple of garbage bags. I also got an 8×10 signed, that wasn’t personalized though.

  10. Love it! I would send cards in as a kid. I got Osgood’s autographed card sent back but never received my Yzerman card back.
