I know analytics disagree but a guy who never strikes out and always gets on base is someone I want. Maybe it’s the oldhead in me.
From one rival to another. Fantastic.
Dude is never gonna leave the NL West again.
It is so fascinating to see how analytics have changed baseball so dramatically. 30-40 years ago he would have been a guy any team wants to keep for his whole career. Now he is taking one-year deals.
One less team for the Cardinals to trade Donovan to!
There’s your DH!
I really liked him and his time in SD, he’s fun to watch, great personality and a real family man, but OK with him moving on. Some at bats were confusing and sometimes his skills on-base are questionable, instincts, game feel and such.
