  4. Wow, the fans that everyone complains about were right..who would’ve thought? Eye test. So easy to see this team falling apart without Simon and Gibson going back to human status.

  5. Todd says all the right things, but it sure seems like he hasn't instructed the guys on the right way to play hockey. Lucas Raymond has a great shot and it is a miracle if he ever gets set up to use it. We can't get out of the defensive zone with any creativity or fluidity, it's always just ripping it around the boards and hoping there's a Red Wing there. Don't hit, don't forecheck like other teams, don't make decisions at a pace they need to…so many fundamental issues.

  9. The RW defense hung Gibby out to dry by chasing pucks on the boards and leaving the middle of the ice wide open. You can't give a team like Colorado that much space in the slot and expect the goalie to do everything. It wasn't a goalie fail; it was a total system collapse.

  12. This is the time when your captain needs to step up and be a real leader. Larkin sounds like a wounded child, he's not a leader. Give them someone who gets pissed off and fired up not some spoiled child who whines. In ten years will realize his vibe was this teams biggest problem. I know he's got years left but I'd say trade him for some defense.

  17. This game should not have shocked anyone. Love this team but I think we all already knew they aren't ready for or on par with elite teams like the Avs. It's fine can't win em all.

  18. Excuses, excuses, excuses….. It's not the coaching. It's the players. And the Wings players don't know how to score. I can't care less about Seider and his alleged dominance as a defender. If you can't score goals, it doesn't matter how long you play on the ice, even if it's all 60 minutes. Unless the Wings turn it around for good, this will be another year that they won't make the playoffs. Wings players commentating on these games should apply for a jobs at ESPN. No effort to win the game. Nobody tries to get in front of the net. Where's our defense. I better not hear any more about Seider being a great player because HE IS NOT…. If a nearly $9 mil a year player like Seider, Raymond, or Larkin, regardless of position, can't find a way for the team to win, then the Wings organization should ask those players for a refund of a good chunk of their salaries…… They need to get with the program or find another job….

The Wings are in the best position they've been in in years, projecting to make the playoffs even when that wasn't expected at the start of the season.   26. As a fan, from Chicago, don’t get big headed, you played well, so far this season, up s and downs, are for real! Gibson, has been great, buy maybe, just maybe, if the wings play at their best, and so does, Colorado, it ain’t even a contest!Wings have to play,their best to even compete against the AV s!Fact!

  28. Jbd really really rough, larkin, ray, frustrated and sulky, kane out of sync missing passes and pucks. I noticed a lot of holding on to the puck trying to make “the smart play” instead of moving the puck and making the play in front of them. I noticed they seemed to be totally unaware of where each other teammate was on the ice, guessing someone would be there when they are not, and failing to notice when the outlet was there. Reset the brain tomorrow and play as a unit. No pouting.

  29. Cue another playoff spot collapse. They been shit for 3 games…. Same shit every year. Always a let down from Jan to April. Fucking softest team in the league. They aren’t willing to dig in…. They never are. Such a frustrating team to be a fan of….. I honestly believe they will never be a playoff team again.

  30. This is painful to say, but the Avs were CLEARLY the better team. In fairness, I don't think anyone can compete with them on most nights, but I also think this team has been over-performing. They have the talent, for sure, but the lack of checking and hitting, sloppy passing, not doing what makes them successful on a nightly basis is reminiscent of their past March melt-downs. I'm not sure a true 1C and top-pair D will fix these glaring issues if they have to give up their top draft picks or prospects to do it. I don't think they're at that point.

  35. Boy oh boy we got absolutely spanked!!! If we don’t get something going before the break it’ll be a rough road to hoe the rest of the way. The guys looked like they were awe struck by Colorado and caved,Gibson had no chance the way the wings were leaving open ice all around him.
