Fire Jerry
Ya thatās great ! Thanks for nothing Jerry. š
Jerry looks like he has the confidence of somebody that's got something in the works. Hope there's an announcement soon.
On Foul Territory Jan 29, Adam Jude talked about the trade deadline as being part of the Mās calculus. He gives examples: (Munoz and Brash in 2020), (Castillo in 2022), Arozarena, Naylor, and Geno. Adam believes that prospects hold more value at the deadline because teams will trade players when theyāre out of contention.
IMO : This allows the Mās to afford players at a third of their Annual Average Value (AAV). This gives a way to ātest driveā a player without much financial commitments. If they pan out, then extend them during the season ( ieā¦Luis Castillo) or sign them in the offseason (ieā¦Josh Naylor).
Jerry should let Justin do his job and be the spokesperson for the team. I cringe if Jerry misspoke. Other than that, Jerry and Justin have done a remarkable job as they ushered in the second best regime in Mariners history having 7 winning seasons in 10 years. This rivals the 8 winning seasons in 11 years from 1993 to 2003. Jerry and Justin oversaw the deepest playoff run in Mās history. They are here to stay as their process of ādraft, develop, and tradeā is a way to counter the free agent frenzy of the big market teams. They found a way to work within the budget given by ownership and make it work.
Jerry is great as a spokesperson for the real(istic) fans who can handle a bit of uncomfortable transparency.
Justin is great for most everyone else who just wants hope and wants to be shielded from the awkward current state and narrative being shopped out from the ownership group.
too few mariners fans have bathed in the bullshit of far less capable GMās. Weāre incredibly lucky to have Jerry (and Justin, et. al)! and will miss them when we eventually donāt have them
2B, 3B, another outfielder?
Banking a break out season for Cole Young š
Mariners zip projects 54% win percentage. Jerry meets goal again.
Two automatic outs in lineup. Bliss and Williamson. Sub .200 Batting avg. Robles unreliable.
Jerry is an expert at putting his foot in his mouth. We are worse than last year as we stand yet he says they got all their business done early and have been bored. Yikes. You re-signed Naylor and didn't replace Geno or Polo. He acts like they have something up their sleeve yet and man I hope they do.
Who is playing 3rd base?
All talk.. only team to never enter a WS.. team will be worse this year
Bring back Geno Gerry.
We need more hitters
