The 2026 NHL Stadium Series between the Boston Bruins and the Tampa Bay Lightning may have been the best game of the season. A HISTORIC comeback, A GOALIE FIGHT!? and more. We break down the tactics and game in today’s video.

  1. Horrendous officiating, every bruins penalty was a penalty except the questionable slash which they allowed us the B’s to skate to the other end of the ice and score. Lightning got away with so much, fire every NHL Ref

  2. It was a great game and I can't really blame the Bruin faithful for feeling salty towards the refs…
    Guess they're the #1 penalized team for a reason though… Go Bolts…

  3. I can't agree with this being game of the year. If this outcome happened organically then sure. But if you look at the replays, a lot of penalties Boston took were directly caused by non-calls on Tampa. As an example, Sean Kuraly gets cross checked to the ice and falls onto the puck. Then gets called for closing his hand on it. Wouldn't have happened if the cross check got called. Then there's Mark Kastelic getting called for roughing, but the 3 guys who went after him getting nothing. In a situation like that it's almost always matching minors. Why is it different now?

Call it incompetence, call it bias, call it whatever you want. But the officiating directly affected the game. It's really hard to look at the officiating and think that there wasn't a conscious attempt to get Tampa back into it, create more drama, whatever. And the Pasta penalty in OT really seals it. Boston had possession long enough to cross all 3 zones before the play was blown dead. There's zero chance that wasn't a conscious decision.

Honestly If that's how these outdoor "spectacle" games are going to be run then I think I'm done with them entirely.

  4. The funny thing is, people complained about Florida being too hot for outdoor hockey, and then ended up needing to warm up the ice because it was too cold

  5. Glad you showed the controversial slash in overtime. I saw a couple of videos complaining about the call so I didn't know if it was a slash or not. It was a slash and a penalty so Bruins really don't have a beef with the call

A: a well-orchestrated, attention grabbing bit of WWE.
After pretty much vanishing from NHL hockey for YEARS, this one came just a couple weeks after the last one.
So, pretty transparent copycatting performance art.

  7. As fun as it may be for fans if I was a coach I’d be threatening my goalie for fighting. You’re trying to win a Stanley Cup and your goalie does something that could result in an injury. How would the Avs react if Nathan MacKinnon started fighting? They’d tell him that they need him to win the cup and to stop doing that shit.

  8. In a full on-ice brawl, goalies often pair off.
In any OTHER scenario, goalies have ZERO urge or reason to fight.
They have no game contact whatsoever, and each can relieve their game frustrations on opposing skaters with their stick in their crease.
This was simply a contrived show for drooling Florida idiots.

  10. Took my 70+ yr old parents to the game with my brother. First time we’ve all been at a game together since I was in grade school.

Next to them hoisting the cup, this is the best game I’ve ever seen, and the benchmark for outdoor games. The drama, the presentation, the theme, Coop’s commitment and knod to the history of Tampa’s Ybor district…

    Perfect
