The interesting part of that, to me, is that this role — look, they’re hiring a lot of positions. There’s going to be a whole bunch of new positions. This is one that I heard about that they talked to a bunch of people about. The interesting part about that to me, this executive vice president — whatever the role may be or turn into — it reports directly to John Harbaugh. So that is very interesting when you’re talking about, okay, he doesn’t report to the general manager, that’s reporting directly to John Harbaugh.” This would just be more evidence that the Giants are being run by Harbaugh.   4. When I was a kid watching the Giants in the 80s, you could sense the energy of the team and where it was coming from, coach Bill Parcells. He would take average guys and turn them into a force that could stand up to the best teams in the league. Would live to see this type of energy back again, can't wait for August.

  6. let’s be real here. Harbaugh is the coach/gm. Schoen may have the official title but once his contract is up after this year, Harbaugh will assume the official title or give it to his boy

  8. Guys, only an idiot would get rid of Schoen after having the kind of draft that he did.

    SCHOEN fixed the OLine. Schoen got us a pass rush. He is one of the best GMs in the league, and I would argue 7 days of the week on that.

    Giants fans better be careful what we wish for.

  20. Maybe its just me that thinks like this, but isnt this all very good for Shoen? I dont think he ever wanted to be the "face" of the organization, just the GM. And now he gets to do so with a competent coach that can slide into the "face" role. Now Shoen can focus on what the rest of the NFL has already done, be a GM

  36. Joe Schoen manages the salary cap, and has had very mixed results with the draft. The last two drafts were better, but his first two drafts were disastrously bad, setting the Giants franchise back several years. Harbaugh is a proven commodity, he knows what it takes to both build and coach winning teams, so yes he would get the node over a GM with a very mixed bag of results and a terrible wins/loss record as a Giants GM.

  38. Hi Marshall, one can make a case for TE Kenyon Sadiq. My opinion, we’re looking at a TE who could possibly wear a gold jacket at the end of his career. Giants would have one of the best TE threats in the entire league.
