Moving Bain and Bailey to Tier 2 personally
Odds seem pretty high that one of those four guys in tier 1 are there at #7. I think I’m just taking one of them and not overthinking it unless we get a great trade down offer.
Personally I’d have Tyson down below Faulk. Just too many red flags between separation and injury history to be a slam dunk at 7.
Other than that, great list.
I’m not messing with trade downs. I think we should stay and pick one of the following six: Reese, Downs, Bain, Bailey, Styles, or Love.
Mendoza is a lock to go #1, so guaranteed one of those guys will be there.
Faulk
The goal should be to draft a day one starter with the 7th pick, unless we can acquire more picks – then work your way down from there.
Saw an interesting post the other day talking about guaranteed salary fo top 10 picks. Apparently the gap between the salary for safeties drafted in the top ten and top paid safeties in the league is, comparably, much smaller than the gap between top 10 WRs/QBs/Edge rookies drafted and their top paid counterparts in the league.
Essentially, rookie safeties taken in the top ten are relatively expensive given lower premiums on the position in the league compared to other skill positions.
Something to keep in mind for the draft- wouldn’t be surprised if we trade down given that AP seems fiscally conservative.
The defense is so bad that I don’t like any scenario in which they take Love. They’re not a RB away they’re an entire defense away
My WAS Big Board Top 10:
1. Rueben Bain, EDGE, Miami
2. Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona St.
3. Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio St.
4. Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio St.
5. Caleb Downs, S, Ohio St.
6. Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
7. Sonny Styles, LB, Ohio St.
8. Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
9. Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn
10. David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech
Jordyn Tyson’s injury history is so bad that I have him pretty far back, if he somehow overcomes his injuries though, he’ll probably be a beast. Also, I agree on Faulk, bro is a great run defender but still hasn’t developed any pass rush moves at all with 2 sacks this year lol. Personally hoping we get Reese, Downs, or Bain.
How does Love compare to Bijan? Feels like he has to be that caliber for us to go offense at 7
That’s pretty good.
I worry about Bains arms if he’s there at 7. A literal 0% hit rate. I worry about Bailey being a 3 down player. A pass rush specialist needs to have 15 sacks a year to be taken at 7.
I’m passing on both with such high questions for them.
Unlike others I’m taking Faulk he’s a great run stopper although his sack numbers and pressures were down that was also part of how Auburn used him. I would trade down and grab him he’s a prospect teams will be higher than the fans are.
I think Tate and Tyson should be a tier up. I think TJ Parker should be in Faulk’s category. I’d rather take Parker than him. Both in a trade down scenario
We are not going to trade down, at #7 this year there won’t be anyone left at #7 that another team will want so badly that would offer us anything of significant value for
That’s why it was so dumb for us to win the games against the Giants and Philly at the end of the season.
We need to draft the best player available no matter who that is, passing on that would be dumb
It’s BPA, not need. My Bears proved this. Our defense and offensive line was considered ass before the season, but we drafted a TE and WR with our first two picks. Those were not the two picks that the fans had in mind. Now, we did sign a boatload of free agents, but really it was our HC that made it come all together.
I don’t hate this at all. Nice post man!
This is spot on. We’ll done.
Whoever the pick is AP has to get it right. The pick needs to be a day 1 starter and impact player. Anything less and you have to start questioning AP as a GM.
It’s really tough to judge what we should and shouldn’t do before free agency
Tyson might have hamstring issues but man is he so good. If he’s healthy he’s better than Lemon but he’s such a risk that we cannot take.
Do not trade that pick unless it’s just too good not to pass up. Just do the obvious and pick the best defensive player in the draft
Drafting a rb is a fireable offense in the first for Washington.
I could understand not wanting love because of his position, we are good on RBs, but counting out David Bailey before the combine is diabolical.
WHY ARE YOU YELLING I’M SCARED
Please Bain. He’d be the Chase Young that never was
Having Lemon as top wr disqualifies you
Do you people not know what “mock” means? These may or may not be the players around when we draft.
My only question is how far back are we willing to fall? Say the Ravens come calling offering 14 and a 2nd or 3rd. We take that but basically all the top defenders are gone, however, love is available. Do we take the clear Blue chip regardless of him being a RB?

Glad you have no say. WTF is this
