When Nolan Ryan pumped in 85 mph HEAT at 63 years old

  1. That catcher definitely touched his own butt subtly to check if he shat himself.

No mask. No chest protector. No shin guards. Low fastball. Nice.

  2. The Rangers should’ve never left that park. Their new place is fine, but the OG Globe Life was only 25 by the time they left.

  3. That’s gotta be closer to like 65 miles an hour, right? Where’s the numbers or data for claim of 85?

  4. He was channeling young Nolan Ryan. Mostly because that pitch wasnt anywhere near the strike zone.

  5. I want to see the timeline where Ryan just said fuck it and didn’t decide to retire after 1993 and instead kept playing until like 1998 when he’d be 50 just to pump his records up further like Jamie Moyer sticking around, even if he tore his UCL in his final career game IRL I don’t doubt that even if his value would be league-average or worse he could still throw at least 92-94 at age 50.

  6. I was at his last game. He hurt his arm, tried throwing a pitch, hit 100mph and was done.

  7. My college roommate was one of the pitchers on our decent D1 team. In our late 30s he was going on how he still had it; got his glove out, and I watch that man destroy his elbow right then and there on the first throw. And the ER we went.

    Would not recommend.

  8. The fact that he never won a Cy Young award may be one of the craziest stats in baseball

  9. Anyone that has watched a major league baseball game should realize that this is not 85 mph lmao
