Will the Detroit Pistons SWING BIG for the Trade Deadline?

The Detroit Pistons are sitting #1 in the Eastern Conference and #1 in the NBA Power Rankings, and with the NBA Trade Deadline approaching, reports suggest Detroit may not be looking to make a blockbuster move. Instead, the front office appears comfortable trusting the core that has them playing elite basketball right now.

In this video, we break down why the Pistons could stay patient at the deadline, what smaller moves could still happen, and whether standing pat is the smartest move for a team leading the league.

Should Detroit make a big move… or keep building with what they have? Let’s talk about it.

  1. I like the idea of doing something simple like getting Luke Kennard or Bey. In my best Robin Thicke voice we need “shootas, shootas ,shootaaaas”

  2. The fans are starving for a championship. From any team. We just feel like if we can get some more shooting , we can at least come out of the east. If the pistons don't get some shooters, you may not make it to the eastern conference finals.

  3. Agree King. Don't think Langdon is gonna take shortcuts and go for a big name and give up assets which he mentioned at the beginning of the season. This team is still developing. Would like to see either Malik Monk or Bobby Portis if Langdon does anything. Shouldn't cost way too much. Don't want Giannis. He's injured a lot and we'd have to give up way to much to get him and lose draft picks and some of our young core.

  4. Get Bobby Portis!! Ask him and Stew if they still wanna fight. If so give the 2 of them 5 minutes locker room, then go take care of business and win the chip!!

  5. Quick question Champ. Have you ever broken a leg? Do you know of any former Piston that’s had a broken leg? If so, what was the outcome?

  6. We got to be patient and not waste our trade capital now for a perfect fit in the summer. I want us to keep our draft picks for trade bait. Sometimes I get impatient. Especially when I watch a game where we can't make a 3 and all the other team has to do is clog the driving lanes and attack Cade. The Pistons are not the Lions. This is a different situation. We have a MVP caliber player for the next 20 years. Who knows maybe more the way Cade plays. I was watching a sports show today where they were all but demanding to go all in because I think they have Lions PTSD.

  7. I don't want just one Championship run. We have the potential to create a dynasty. In this day in age, that's a feat that most teams will never accomplish. Let's stay strong, no need to be thirsty. If this is the dating market, currently the Pistons hold all the leverage. No need to swipe right on every prospect we see. Stay the course!

  8. If they blew the whole project up for a flash in the pan AGAIN…. omg … There'd be search parties hunting Gores. Him doing just that is what sent us into this limbo. We finally have our homegrown product, like King said, still improving.

  9. The 1st round of this years draft is gonna be stacked from front to back with talent. Heck the Pistons may actually draft our biggest need this year that could be the missing piece moving forward. I agree we don't need to give up on a ton of draft capitol to make a desperate move that may or may not lead to a Championship. This team is very young and we have a lot of great basketball ahead of us. Let's build this team the right way and reap the rewards a year or two from now.
