There is no way in 120 minutes of regulation and 5 minutes of OT there wasn’t a single infraction against them. It’s fucking impossible.
That was a really bad missed call.
But in general, they don’t have the puck enough to be drawing enough powerplays.
You need the puck, and in particular in the offensive zone, to consistently draw penalties. The Leafs are awful at both of those things.
Just a reminder that this is what the NHL wants. If they didn’t they would have done something about it ages ago. Penalties are about game management, not enforcing the rules of hockey.
And they’ve won two straight games after losing the half dozen prior. Coincidence?
This is a long term trend. I’m surprised MLSE puts up with it. It costs them revenue.
There was only 1 powerplay in last 2 games for either team. And two times 4 on 4.

They need to sell it better. Watch McDavid complaining to the refs all the time and getting calls. Matthews, Nylander and JT should do the same. They should also implement snapping back their head whenever a stick comes up like Tampa does.

This is almost as egregious as Tampa Bay teasing Cancer survivors with an 800k shot from half FOR CANCER RESERARCH and not giving them anyways when they missed a “contest” shot

I’m more upset with MLSE for not making a stink about it. They pay for like 20% of the league, why they choose to not flex their financial muscle on DoPS and the reffing is beyond me.
