  1. ben really has a type for oc, super young who will devote every waking hour to football lol trust in ben

  2. The fact it’s a non play calling OC job, makes it very suitable as a job for these young phenoms. They learn from a genius, then take an OC position where they run the show.

It’s a bit of a churn for Ben but it’s a good thing to have talent that gets poached. The captain is in charge though.

  3. I was just pouring myself another cup of coffee and thinking to myself it was odd we haven’t even heard about possible OC interviews.

That said, no idea about this guy. But we also knew nothing about Doyle (although he was at least coming from Sean Payton). So trust Ben’s process 100% on whoever he hires.

  4. The biggest takeaway is that these guys are not charged with shaping and installing the entire offense and that is a blessing

  5. It’s a relief we don’t have to stress about these type of hires with Ben controlling the offense. Ben is hiring students to take under his wing

  6. There’s your answer to all the folks on here who said Ben would just promote from within, or Infante who made a bunch of Lions connections. That wasn’t Ben’s style last year and it’s not this year either.

  7. Drew Petzing (this guy’s former boss, new Detroit offensive coordinator) was in Ben Johnson’s wedding – so I’m guessing this is a recommendation from a friend, like Doyle was recommended by John Morton.

If they’re searching for Declan Doyle types, I’m gonna guess Ashton Grant (New England qb coach) gets a job interview after the Super Bowl

  8. Brisset played well, albeit mostly in garbage time. But that pass game was solid. Seems like a great fit for calebs growth.

  9. Has there been any murmur on JT (qb coach) wanting an OC position? If I’m not mistaken, he is key to the trick plays

  10. MLF brought him in to be a QB coach. Good on Ben trying to poach him to a promoted role.

  11. If he helped turn Trey McBride into the best tight end in football then I know one first round pick from last year who should be excited.

  12. Cardinals had issues with Marvin Harrison jr sans Kyler murray. I imagine this guy has a big role in getting Brissett up to speed and scheming plays that got mc bride and ans Wilson producing. Looks good for us

  13. Either him or someone internally like Randel El. After this year I think he deserves it.
