  1. Sad that we're not good enough to be winners and we're not bad enough to be losers. We have no assets in the cupboard. Just to fade out will be sad.
It would be quite amazing to get hot and start destroying teams but could that really happen?

  2. This is the problem with Nylander, though. He CAN turn it on and look like a McDavid or MacKinnon. But he really only does that vs. teams he knows he can dominate, like the Flames. Does Nylander ever play a game like this in the playoffs? No. And why is that? It's because playoff teams, especially in the Atlantic, are very, very good teams, with 4 solid lines rolling. That is what separates very good players from great players. Rantanen, McDavid, MacKinnon, Pastrnak, Kucherov, Makar: they can have games like this in the playoffs. Nylander does not. And I really, really love Willy and this team. I truly do. But I guess I'm sobering up and realizing that this team just doesn't have it. I want them to succeed, but they're not good enough to be in the playoffs this year. Not in the Atlantic.

  3. They only have their 3rd and 5th. Tanking for the 3rd and 5th rounds is stupid. They just need to sell and get what they get and hopefully finish above the sens, panthers, mammoth and kings and send Boston the 12-14 pick rather than the 7-8 pick.

  4. Ofc bumkis wants to sell, but why can’t the plan be to just admit we are losing the 1st round pick? Why can’t that be the option moving forward? That’s reality. Trying to lose to be one of the 5th worst teams in the league is a pipe dream

  5. I wonder if Austin has been listening to various hockey shows as I've noticed he's actually been engaged in scrums , at least grabbing someone vs skating away . The Leafs are no different than good to middle teams , if they get really good goaltending , and have a healthy line up they can win most game . The elite teams like Colorado or Tampa can win missing a player or two and with average goaltending .

  6. I guess you youngsters on these sports podcasts don't realize that Willy's dad Micheal Nylander had some issues with Calgary flames that maybe could inspire Willy to add some extra beat down to the performance
