Red Sox Sign Kyle Keller To Minor League Deal

  1. This is honestly a great under the radar minor league signing. Never really found his footing in the MLB, but has been a dominant reliever in Japan the past few years. Not so much last year, which is why we got him on a minor league deal, but Bailey could absolutely get him to be a strong relief option.

  2. So while I agree on paper it seems like a great diamond in the rough sort of signing, i’m gonna maybe beat a dead horse here… can he play 2B or swing a RH bat? They’ve done a lot of pitching deals, but not enough on the offensive side

  3. Love the depth move, but my only question is this. Is the plan to make him a switch pitcher? Because everyone here knows Bres only gets guys who are over 6’ 8” with great extension; but most importantly, they’re LEFTY. Kyle Keller switch pitcher 2026 confirmed

  4. This is bound to get sarcastic *full throttle* comments, and I’m all for pushing the team to do more. But this is a move that happens whether the team is going full throttle or not. Part of the reason for spring training is to see if lottery ticket NRI’s like this can work outs. Plus every season you end up using a handful of relievers you don’t really mind bringing up for a week and then DFAing instead of a prospect’s development. Gotta get a couple of those guys into major league camp.
