  1. The Orlando magic special. At least kudos for us not having to attach a second I guess. I’m assuming we’ll try to add someone on the buyout market.

  2. I’ve never heard of this cash considerations player before but I hope to God he can hit an open three

  3. Bring his jersey back down from the rafters, Cash Considerations is coming home!!Ā

  4. This is good for us tbh. We get under the tax while dumping our worst player and keeping Mosley from being able to play him. We also didn’t have to dump Goga for nothing, which is a mini win.

Bro got traded for NOBODY. ā€œConsiderationsā€ 🤣🤣

  6. Got rid tyus jones for cash considerations, and magic had to give up two 2nds as well. šŸ’€

  7. are people actually that upset about losing 2 2nds? they would have been traded for cash considerations anyway, this is just doing it in advance to get back under the tax. they’ve never drafted a single relevant player in the 2nd round in the history of the franchise

  8. This is frankly the best I can think of what they can do. Goga has some value and JI with form could play 10 sparkling minutes per game. Jones is just a hole.

  9. **UPDATE** Sources said the Hornets receive two second-round picks from the Magic in this deal, lifting them to 11 first-rounders and 14 second-rounders over the next 7 years. The trade gets Orlando out of the luxury tax.

  10. We might not be done. Tyus made $7m and we needed to shed roughly $5.5m. But we also already had a roster spot open, so we have to refill Tyus’ spot, at minimum. What is a prorated minimum contract at this point in the season? We only have a little over a million to work with for that player unless we also dump Jett or someone else.

  11. If this was the market, we had to do it. Makes the team better, gets us under the tax. Would love to sign Paul as a buyout guy. Would still be trying to flip Jett for Alvarado.

  12. Former Orlando Magic Great Cash Considerations! Chaaaaaaaammmmmpppppiiioooooonmmmsssshjhiiiiippp!

  13. My thoughts: Tyus made sense pre season, a cool headed guard who doesn’t turn the ball over. Mosley played him way too much. His defining trait was not turning the ball over. While at first it sounds great, not making any risky passes hampers the offense. Better to have 2 TO and 8 assists than 0 TO and 2 assist.

This overly cautious play style by Tyus never really helped us out. Tyus was also not a guy to bring energy, the thing the magic have sorely been needing.

    Overall Magic Career rating: D-
    Pros
    -low turnovers
    -Available

    Cons
    -Scared to Shoot / Pass
    -Low energy
    -horrible defense

With this trade I hope to see Jase get more minutes. While a rookie, he brings energy every game and has produced positive offense and defense while playing.

  14. Kinda sad about this outcome, seemed like a good dude that just didn’t live up to the role

  15. Very odd how bad Tyus was. Not sure what gets an established pro like that to just fall off a cliff.

  16. Can’t believe how many minutes he got just for this. Still at least now our rookies get more minutes.

  17. Those two second round picks were pretty bad anyway. We were unlikely to use them, or get much out of them if we did.

We also generated a $7m trade exception here (that we will never use).

  18. He was so valuable that the team wouldn’t accept measly players for him, only cash money!!!

  19. I can hear those same people getting all excited when Bane and Tj joined that they really thought that with Jones we were a contender, I Knew he wasn’t but some of you guys were so delusional.

  20. This guy Weltman has completely ruined the Magic, gave away the future for a decent but not great Desmond Bane, now trading more draft picks to dump a salary of another big mistake he made.
What’s this loser going to do next?
